If he loved them that much, you'd have thought he would give it a little bit longer to get a game rather than leaving at 16. Very odd.

Or perhaps he was just insecure about his future and moved to a club where he was told he would be playing games (he only got a few cup games the first year, but then before he had turned 18 he had played 30 league games already)? I don't think anyone right now could argue with the idea that Fabregas has now done enough to ensure that he would play regularly for Barca, which he feared he never would at the age of 16.

Just speculating, of course.

I'm not for one minute suggesting that he didn't make the right decision or that he doesn't have a better chance of getting in their team now than he did at 16, that is obvious. It just seems odd to me that at 16 and at the club he supposedly loves and has "in his blood," that he would just be so pragmatic and fuck off elsewhere. I would have thought that with such an emotional tie to the club, he would have waited perhaps until the ripe old age of 17 or 18 before making the gut wrenching move away.
