Yes, we have unparalleled growth in the financial performance of the group which, in turn, allows us to expand and develop the clubs in it, including our own first team and Academy setups. As we are still in the expansion phase, much of the finance is reinvested so it will be interesting to see how this trickles through in subsequent years and provides loan and career opportunities for our players and coaches.

A key area is IT. CFG have a bank facility to draw down up to 500£m. Some of that will be used to create a global IT system. CFG will run it and member clubs will rent time and data. Big capital cost not on City, so excellent for us.
In addition the link to Silverlake gives City an “in” to a huge range of organisations. You may even see a Silverlake company building an arena next to the Etihad!

Good info as usual but you've gone a bit too far with that. I'm sure I would have noticed that.
 
You would think FIFA and UEFA would welcome CFG but looking at the referring decisions we get. I think not. Seems moving forward the core business of CFG is not going to be football clubs as such but entertainment and promoting football football services and coaching / youth development Education. They should welcome some of this.

Ultras in Italy are very powerful and have an unofficial, but accepted say on club matters, which sometimes brings them into direct conflict with the owner/s of the club.

I hope City have done their homework on Italian fan/Ultra terrace culture?

City Football Group will pay around €6 million for Palermo and it’s clear that their value will only continue to rise as the years go by. This will likely have important sporting results for the Sicilian side, who are preparing for the Serie B play-offs.

Disneyworld and all that goes with.
Anaheim is the original theme park, like Universal studios in Hollywood.
The new theme parks in Florida are favoured by europeabs, more hotels, more modern attractions and easier to get to.
To quote a footballing term
Disneyland in California has "'istree" and Florida is the new kid on the block.
 
Wasn’t we linked with buying a Mexican club some years ago we play at least one in the summer and have just bought perhaps our biggest player ever could really use him this summer to spread CFG if they buy a club this summer Mexico or anywhere else.

Mexico ticks a lot of boxes big market big on football clubs owned by very wealthy people and company’s that could be useful to work with. Decent ability to produce a decent level of talent would link in well with NYCFC
 

Man City owners closing in on Palermo takeover​

Manchester City's owners City Football Group are closing in on a deal to purchase Italian side Palermo, Sky in Italy are reporting.
CFG representatives have flown to Milan for talks with Palermo's president Dario Mirri and are expected to wrap up a full takeover in the next few days.
The group manifested their interest in the Sicilian club earlier this year and started talks over a potential deal in April.
More talks and meetings are expected to take place in the next days, but only the last set of paperwork and bureaucracy is left to be ironed out.
Palermo finished third in Serie C last season, and on Sunday secured promotion to Serie B after beating Padova 2-0 in a two-legged play-off final.
The club were playing in the top flight as recently as 2017, but went bankrupt in 2019 and were relegated to Serie D, the fourth tier of domestic football.
Palermo nurtured an array of talent in their recent history including Edinson Cavani, Paulo Dybala, Javier Pastore, Andrea Belotti and Luca Toni.
CFG would make Palermo the 11th club in their stable, and the first in Italy, with their flagship sides including Man City in England, New York City in the USA, Girona in Spain, Lommel in Belgium and Troyes in France.
They also own Montevideo City (Uruguay), Sichuan Jiuniu (China), Mumbai City (India), and a 20 per cent stake in Yokohama Marinos (Japan).
