Only Aguero out of them was a very big name and even then he was still not at the top level nor even the biggest young striker. Benzema was still the biggest out of the youngsters and there were still the likes of Villa/Zlatan/Etoo (who would make a shock move). Arguable that Higuain was a bigger name. Falcao has just come back from a career threatening injury and nobody else wanted to take the risk.

Di Maria is probably the biggest name out of the rest and it took a very unique circumstance for him to leave much like Ozil. Even then he wanted to go to PSG and will probably end up there at some point.

Silva, Yaya, Fabregas, Sanchez are not top tier names. Neymar, Suarez, Bale, Ronaldo, Pogba, Zlatan, Etoo, Benzema, Thiago Silva, Cavani, Pastore and Kroos are just some of the players that were much bigger names. Of course the bigger name does not mean the better player, but a lot of the time it does. Our last two players of the season (whether deserved or not) have just gone abroad.

Fabregas and Sanchez were kicked out of Barca for not being good enough. Yaya was the defensive midfielder not worth 25 million.

Surely you are on a wind up mate. PSG are in the french league, we are in the English league. There is gulf of difference in terms of everything between the two. Watch a ligue 1 match and there are hardly any people there. PSG just about beat Chelsea yesterday which could have gone either way, it wasn't a 3-0,4-0 result.

Pogba became famous only at Juventus, let him have a move first. I don't see Juve holding onto him. There is no way Cavani, Pastore, Benzema are bigger names than the ones you have put forward from the BPL. Pretty sure Hazard rejected PSG. I don't see any big names in their prime wanting to move to Ligue 1 over BPL.

Also Thiago Motta wouldn't get into Barca/Real/City/Bayern XI, no chance. Even Ryan Bertrand was in a CL winning team mate. Sometimes players around you make you look better than you are.

Give any of the PSG players the same wages and transfer fee in the BPL/La Liga and they will move without any doubt. In the end what matters to the players most if the league they play in and French ligue is way below par.

The top teams in the BPL (Us, Chelsea, Arsenal (won't spend however)) and those with financial power in the BPL (Rags) can sign any player out there if Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich don't want him.
Are you serious? Oh boy, you do disconsider french league and PSG. Didn t we fought them(among others) for Pastore, Ibrahimovic, Cavani, Marquinhos and T Silva? If it s so easy to take players from PSG why don t we go for Verratti? Because it s impossible!
PSG knockout Chelsea, Monaco will do the same with Arsenal and you mock them like they are Championship.
And they also have Lyon, Marseille, Saint-Etienne and Bordeaux all great teams.

I second your point of view here.
French's league 1 has come a long way these last seasons. Now i really think that teams like Monaco or Lyon would give a tough run for their money to any of Arsenal, Pool or the rags.
Sure, apart for PSG there are no "big names" in these teams, but their youth academies produces some of the best prospects in Europe to make up for it, this is the X factor in their favor.
And i also think that Paris would actually get away with the championship, they have the suited players to apply the CL pressing game non stop, their physical game is levels beyond ours and Chavs' and their football fluidity is at least on par with ours.

We did not fight them for Pastore, Ibrahimovic, Marquinhos or T.Silva when they moved to Paris. We never went in for Cavani either but we were thinking about him.
Have you seen the stadium in ligue 1? They are half empty.
There is a reason they are far behind in the European coefficients as a nation. Ligue 1 is nowhere near the standards of BPL mate.
Ligue 1 is currently 6th and the BPL is currently 2nd. Must be a reason for that?

Your argument by stating we arn't going for Verrati is hideous. Just because he is good doesnt mean we have to get him and we arn't being able to get him.

All I am saying is match the transfer fee and wages of a Ligue 1 team and the player would prefer a move to BPL.

Is not about PL versus Ligue 1; of course is a big difference between the leagues as I think PL is by far the most entertaining in the world. It s about you saying that teams from PL can easily take players from Ligue 1, witch is not true. We were in for all those players. Do you remember how hard Mancini tried to take Ibra? Paris is the best city in the world, probably alongside NY, so is not a very hard call to go there, is it? Just because PL is the best we dont have to be cocky, it s not the case. There are at least 20 teams in Europe as attractive as an PL one.

Not big names yet; Monaco played superb against Arsenal. I don t know what they are doing but they do it right.
Varane,Digne,Mangala,Kurzawa,Zouma,Pogba,Griezmann,Lacazette - just a few of the new french generation.

Still don't know how Costa yet again escaped without a red last night. How, when on a yellow, all 6 officials missed his push which should have been a 2nd yellow. Refs generally are incompetent in this competition, that ref last night should not be offered another game again, he was simply awful

He refused to send maicon off when he brought Sergio down at home against Roma.

He didn't book Ashley Cole, only giving him a warning in the 80 th minute for his 7th or 8th foul.

Failed to spot a handball

And so on.

A shift ref to be honest.

Any Chelsea fan moaning about Costa not being awarded a penalty, he shouldn't have been on the pitch after his elbow on Luiz.
