Champions League 19/20

Had a go at the likely groups for next year as it stands.

A few assumptions;

• We're allowed to compete :)
• Arsenal and Liverpool win their respective finals
• The highest ranked sides go through in qualifying
• A couple of leagues haven't finished yet so I've assumed no change in league positions.

Pot 1
Barca, Bayern, Juve, City, PSG, Arsenal, Liverpool, Zenit

Pot 2
Real, Atletico, Porto*, Dortmund, Chelsea, Napoli, Shakhtar, Tottenham

Pot 3
Ajax*, Benfica, Kyiv*, Leverkusen, Salzburg, Valencia, Inter, Copenhagen*

Pot 4
Celtic*, Zagreb*, Lokomotiv Moscow, Genk, Galatasaray, RB Leipzig, Atalanta, Lille


* denotes a team that needs to get through qualifiers

Maybe keep any opinions of the competition (agenda etc) to the various other threads about it and I'll update this as and when things change.

The final next year is 30th May at the Ataturk stadium in Istanbul.

Atletico or Dortmund would be a bigger threat from pot 2.

If Spurs actually win it will they still be in pot 2?

EDIT: Sorry, didn't spy Liverpool. Will be them. Arsenal won't be Pot 1 though, think Europa winners are Pot 2.

Thinking about it the dips wouldn't be in pot 1 normally anyway so it'd be them & Spurs swapping but as the OP says it's early days yet & we won't have much of a solid idea until the 2 finals are played.

No both CL and Europa winners are in pot 1. So either Spurs or Liverpool and either Chelsea or Arsenal for pot 1.

If Arsenal win the Europa League they will be Pot 1, if they don't win it, they won't be in the Champions League at all. I think that would mean either Young Boys of Berne or Slavia Praha getting into the group stage instead (in a lower pot) and Chelsea would move into Pot 1.

No, they will be in Pot 1 and Liverpool will drop out into Pot 2.

They’re not. Europa winners are pot 1 along with Champs League winners
