It'll be nice to see some fresh teams at the Etihad, and it'll be less likely at those places we'll have another coach being attacked.

We avoided any other giants but those are 3 sneakily hard teams. Lyon have a lot of very talented young players capable of brilliance, we know Shakhtar are a good team and an awkward away trip, and Hoffenheim have a great coach.

I hope we play well and top the group but I am not expecting it as a given.

You're right of course, but I think the responses here are just a relief reaction to the tough draws we've had in years past.

TBF, given how the pots laid out, and given our side, I think we would have had a fair degree of confidence no matter who we drew.

I would've picked Lyon as one to avoid, and Hoffenheim looking at the other teams in Pot 4. Albeit of course we should beat them both. There were just easier options.

But great for travel, and easily the best group we've had on paper when compared to the previous seasons. Pot one makes a huge difference.
