Champions League Bayern Munich vs Real Madrid

Honestly though, what have RM done to make them such a big dog?

Win 1 game vs Barca in like 10 recent games and draw 3? They don't play teams Bayern's level every week.

Well RM will always be a big dog due to the fact they are one of the most successful teams ever. Other than that though they are romping the league despite a little stutter while Bayern are 2nd to a good team but Dortmund are hardly world beaters.
I say being top in a league that has The Barcelona TM (1 off team of a lifetime) says you are doing well

This isn't about RM being crap though is it. You hate them for some reason and try to figure out a logic in your head to fit out them being shit

Very exciting this one. I think the thing that may decide it for Bayern is Lahm vs Ronaldo. Lahm has got the better of him every time they met. Meanwhile you could imagine Bayern's wingers tearing the Madrid fullbacks a new one. Arbeloa and Marcelo/Coentrao vs Robben and Ribery? Only one winner there. Obviously Alaba or whoever plays left back for Bayern may struggle against Di Maria, but Bayern will have greater possession and so Di Maria may be penned back defending against Ribery. Midfield is fairly even, but if Schweinsteiger plays Bayern will control possession, Madrid just don't have anyone who can stop him.

Then it comes down to Benzema/Ozil against Badstuber/Boateng and Muller/Gomez against Pepe/Ramos. I would say advantage Madrid there, but not by much and Gomez is good enough to beat those Madrid defenders.

Too close to call imo, but can't wait.

I'm fairly sure Ronaldo plays LW and Di Maria RW.

So Ronaldo v Alaba...no contest.
Di Maria v Lahm....interesting.

Barcelona are better than Real and Bayern are better than Dortmund, Real are above Barca because of their stronger squad and Dortmund above Bayern because they have less games to play since their CL exit and Bayern's squad isn't that great either.

I don't hate Real at all, I watch all their games but I think Bayern are being overlooked and I'm making the case that they are on the same level as Real (both below Barca mind).

It should be a fantastic fight over two legs no matter what. I expect to see brilliant football and I wouldn't rule out BM coming out as the finalist.

Heynckes has only ever won the Champions League when he managed Real and only one coach (del Bosque, twice) has won them the Champions League since Heynckes was in charge. I think Mourinho is a superior manager though and it could be the manager that makes the difference as both teams are packed full of great players.

Lahm plays right back and Alaba plays left back.

So the wings will be Arbeloa/Ronaldo vs Robben/Lahm, and Coentrao/Di Maria vs Ribery/Alaba. I'm assuming Marcelo probably won't play.

To me it looks like advantage Bayern on the wings.

I wonder if the ref will deny Real a stonewall penalty at the allianz....?
