Apart from Prague and Bratislava, the other games are all fairly tough unlike the old format group stage when only one other team were likely to be tough.
I fear a tougher workload on the players

There was ALWAYS going to be a tougher workload.
I reckon there's enough there for us to make top 8 fairly easily, and if we're lucky we get more straightforward fixtures earlier allowing some flexibility

I totally agree and didn't understand the comments on here just after

Brugge, Sporting and Feyenoord are hardly pushovers either.

This is definitely more work for the players and I think it makes it harder to progress through the tournament, but I do think it has kicked up some exciting games early in the competition. I like playing 8 different teams. I imagine those of you that travel like the wider variety of options?

A big fault is that there is now no reward for winning your league. Dippers should not be in pot 1.

I'm happy to play Inter Milan. It was fun watching us try to breakdown their defense in the CL final. I think they provide us with a nice solid test.

I mean worst case we come between 9-24, as we aren’t going to come in the bottom 12, and have to play a play off game against one of the other teams who are unlikely to be in europes elite. It is a greater workload again, but I don’t think there is significantly more jeopardy for us.

My own view is that the extra games in January may hurt us as we always take the domestic cups seriously and can do without extra games at this stage of the season. Now of course I am sure the plan is to qualify early and give the academy lads and Nunes a run.
