Champions League Draw Barca 18th Feb (H) & 12th Mar (A)

Re: The round of 16 Champions League (drawn against Barcelona)

hopefully we'll finish the tie at the first leg, I really think we are capable of doing so.

would love to bring Mancini in for the 2nd tie however and park the bus ! :)

We could play Barca the mid-week before the Capital One Cup final or the Manchester derby if the scheduling gives us the later first leg date. OR we could have the weekend off if United are in the final and we aren't. What a crazy week that would be.

Messi was clearly nowhere near fit in that game. I'm not saying they would've gone through if he was, but he just wasn't. Barca badly mismanaged his injuries last season.

That's why he didn't play any part for them in the weeks before the game and he didn't even play in the 2nd leg.

Yeah Bluebee being a bit of a tit there

Bayern beat them 7-0 over two legs last season, what's to fear ?

Messi. he didn't feature in that tie last year.

A tit, I wasn't the one who said Messi didn't play, fit or not he played.
and you were the one arguing a stupid fucking point. what's to fear? if (possibly) the greatest player to ever walk the planet is fully fit, fresh and firing for this match, then I fear him. if you don't, you're an idiot.

Fuck parking the bus attack them away goals very important and we can score at least 2 IMO

We could easily be thrashed here, even if Messi is 100% he will be surrounded by Kompany Fernandinho Yaya, he will get no space. So it will be up to Neymar or Alexis to do something. Our midfield will get over run I reckon by the pace and strength of their midfield, and our defence definitely won't be able to cope with their attack. Overall I am not confident

The hardest possible draw for us.
Their physicality will pose us a lot of problems.

If we can try to come back to Camp Nou with a draw, then it will be a easier beating them at Camp Nou. Their attack is pretty strong and we need to be at out top form in those games. If we can beat City, then we will are able to win this years UCL.

I think we should approach the away leg like Pep used to do. Xavi or Cesc as the most offensive midfielder and Iniesta in attack with Messi and one of Neymar/Alexis/Pedro. Try to control the ball at all times without attacking too much (and leaving space for City). I fear we'll get overrun if we show up with Busi, Xavi and Iniesta in midfield without being able to create much ourselves anyway.
