Champions League Draw Barca 18th Feb (H) & 12th Mar (A)

I seem to remember we did OK last time we played Barca...

Re: Could playing Barca at home first be to our advantage?

I don't see how playing away in the 2nd leg can ever have any advantage?

As it stands I reckon we need to take a 2 nil lead to Barca.

Had we played away first and got a credible draw then we would know that a 1 nil win or maybe a goalless draw would suffice - with 44k screaming the team over the line,

I would love to be at Eastlands watching City knockout the mighty Barca. As it is I will be watching on TV as I won't be able to be one of the lucky ones that will get a ticket, not the same effect really.

Another reason why I would have preferred to be home 2nd.

Each to their own though!

Our manager doesn't do equations, win must win both legs or we are fucked!

Re: Could playing Barca at home first be to our advantage?

Depends if we play like we did at home to Munich and leave ourselves too much to do!

Hopefully we can take a couple of goals lead to nou camp to defend.

Normally you would say home leg second is the advantage but I know Barca haven't been great away from home in the champions league in recent seasons. If we get in to them and play the football we are capable of we could go to the nou camp with a couple of goals advantage. Then we are in with a great chance.

Exactly my point. Them being favourites to beat us but losing to us first leg could send their fans into mass hysteria if it's not going their way early doors at their place.

Playing home first is a big disadvantage in my opinion whatever the result is at the Etihad they will have time to turn it around at the camp nou, and if the game goes to extra time or pens they have the home advantage. We need a clean sheet at home and a very solid away performance but I think we can do it. Barca an amazing team but not unbeatable.
