I am not disagreeing with you. Sorry if it came across that way. I too love the CL and always think it is the most important competition we enter every year. I am always open to theories...this one simply does not stand up.

Hello friends! I'm someone who lives in the Netherlands and i'm a big fan of Feyenoord! I have a seasoncard for 19 years now but there is only one club in the UK where i have feelings for and that is Man City (Fuck united!)! I'm really glad and looking forward to see your team playing on Sept. 13 in de Kuip Rotterdam! For you Feyenoord is probably not the club to be afraid of but trust me when i say that you will love the atmosphere that evening! So please come to Rotterdam and have i great evening and good luck in the CL!! May the best team win!

The train service beteren Amsterdam Central and Rotterdam Central is excellent. There leaves a train to Rotterdam from the city every ten minutes. Some do have a longer travel time though. The fastest link is with the Thalys, which travels from Amsterdam to Rotterdam every hour. The travel time is 37 minutes. You have to reserve tickets for the Thalys on the company's own website though, with a average price around €21.

Otherwise, the NS (national railway operator) has an excellent railway service between both cities as well. The fastest link with the NS to Rotterdam from Amsterdam is 42 minutes, and the price is €15.20.

A quick impression of the Amsterdam-Rotterdam service on the match day (13 september). As you can see on the left, numerous train services between both cities almost every ten minutes:
