Champions League Draw & TV Pairings

yeah mate. that would be my prediction or maybe monchengladbach instead of woflsburg. real madrid will get the easiest pot 1 team so they can win the group. then when city probably finish 2nd we will get madrid in first knockout stage. agenda nah!!!
 
We can't keep getting Bayern in the group stages, that would be too obvious. Barcelona it is.

Anyone know if you can bet on these things?
 
If it really is fixed, I would say Barca/Real, Galatasaray and Wolfsburg.

Otherwise:PSV, Lyon and Gent.
 
I can live with the 'seeding', it's all the rest of the manipulation of the draw that does my head in. What's so hard about drawing one team from each pot into eight groups of four and then working out who plays when. I can't see any great benefit to the competition as a result of not allowing teams from the same country to be drawn in the same group. It would be nice to avoid the two usual suspects of Bayern and Barcelona this season, I'm sure they feel the same as well. After the start we've made I'm sure most teams will be hoping to avoid us in the group stages.
 
Can we draw anyone other than Chelsea in pot 1? In past draws we have only had the chance of about 3 sides due to the pairings rule. Do these still apply?
 
i'll attempt to clear up the confusion with the coefficient points etc;

1) The seeding for draw/groups etc are made upon the club coefficients from the previous 5 seasons performance in Europe. Details on how that coefficient is made;

2) the current coefficient is the previous 4 seasons and this season. So you'll see for this season the coefficients for teams are very small as so few euro matches have actually been played.

So, that is why in the draw stages United have a 103 coeff compared to City's 87, because their appearance in a CL final was within 5 previous seasons (2010/11), however they drop below City in the current seedings because that huge points bonus drops off.

As Chelsea is the only english team in pot 1, they are the only team we can`t play against. The rest of pot 1 could play against us.

However, because it looks like there will be 3 Spanish teams in our pot, the odds will be significantly shorter for us/Arsenal/United to get drawn against Barca/Sevilla. Should Sevilla not be in Pot one as Europa winners?

no, it's the champions from the top 7 ranked nations plus Champs League holders. However both finalists are champions of their country so the 8th slot goes to the 8th ranked nation, holland. No pot 1 for Sevilla.

Benfica, Olympiacos and Gent would be a brilliant draw.

However, it would be just our luck that if we top the group Barca would finish 2nd and we'd still draw them in the last 16.
