the pots that have been posted are very likley to change before the groups get drawn.

It's not as simple as the teams that get through the playoffs just go into pot 3 & 4 as the table posted would suggest.

If Arsenal for instance get through against Udinese, I would expect them to among the top seeds.

With bayern & Lyon also having to qualify the pots of seeds will look different come the 25th August.

Use the table below, the top seeded team of those that still have to qualify are already factored in and put in their correctly seeded place and have a * against them. None of the teams can move down a pot, only up if a starred team above them in the rankings gets knocked out. The lower ranked teams for the draw- they are not in the list of 32 all have a ranking worse than ours. If FC Twente knock Bayern out they would go behind us and above Lille but bottom club in pot 3 Lille would remain in pot 3 because everyone with a coefficient below Bayern moves up a place.

So baiscally there is no shortcut for cheap flights and it will just have to be a mad scramble when the fixtures are announces.....

That's what it boils down to mate yes. What we need to know is whenabouts the fixture dates will be confirmed by UEFA, it seems pointless booking anything until then

Yes agreed, we've put some work in here trying to circumvent the system to give ourselves an advantage on the cheap flights front and come up with 0-0. Ah well, good work all, don't forget looking forwards- when they do the draws after the group stage they drew a couple of rounds last year. i.e. we'll know that if we beat team a we'll go on to meet the winners of b vs c in the round after that and I think who is at home in the first leg is predetermined. So forward thinking etc...

Yeah, remember the bloke who booked a week in Cyprus then found they'd switched the fixtures, so he even missed the home game cos he was in Cyprus!

they're not in pot 4 mate. the winners of the last 5 ties on the list are "unknown seedings". it will all depend who goes through. for example if arsenal go through they'll almost certainly have their usual place in pot 1. however, if udinese go through they'll only be in pot 3 or 4.
