Crouch is a useful tool due to his height. That said, it's shocking the number of times much smaller players are able to win headers or force him to foul in the air. Andy Carroll is actually much more effective in the air despite being shorter.
That's because Carroll is built like a brick shithouse as well as being mentally unstable, just goes flying in. Crouch is more easily manouvered around by defenders because he's so skinny, lack of core strength so he has to grapple.

Carroll is a much, much, much superior version of Crouch. That's not a slight to Carroll by the way no matter how I view Crouch.

Are you serious? Have you seen some of the play VdV has encouraged and orchestrated them to play this season? They are a good side with different options. Re Crouch's record, its a good job players aren't based by those in the know how you base them, i.e. on one season.
I have seen them play. They're fairly straightforward in their approach. It's fine as an approach, but it isn't Arsenal or Barcelona or Real Madrid.

In regards to Crouch, don't rate him and never will. He's a taller Jo.
No-one said they were a Barca, Madrid or Arsenal. They are no Stoke though, as has been mentioned.
A taller Jo eh? Lets hope Jo scores the goal which fires his team into the CL then.
With his record, especially at International level, (doesn't matter who those goals have come against, stats are stats), if Crouch was a 'normal' looking player, and not a gangling, awkward freak of a man, he would be given 10 times more respect than he gets, and has got since his career began. I remember an interview with Ian Ormandroyd when he played for Villa. He said that Tony Daley could scuff 10 shots all game, play shit but not get any grief. Ormandroyd could scuff 1 chance and get dogs abuse, purely because of how he looked. Shame really, because Crouch is a good player and I apologise for the cliche but he does have good feet for a big man.

'arry tried to sign Carroll and had he succeeded, Crouch would have been on his way to Villa or the Red Dippers again.

Jo for CSKA

77 Games, 44 Goals.

If this is a reply to my Ibra stats, you should be embarrassed comparing the Russian Premier League to Serie A and La Liga. Ibra has performed at every level, are you one of those who thinks a player can't be great if he hasn't done it in England?

I don't think he would get on the pitch if not for his height. Yes, he has decent feet... for a big man, not for any other size player. And I'm not going to rate a player well for scoring one goal.

And I didn't compare them to Stoke. Stoke don't even play football. Their particular brand of thuggery is inexcusable. All I said is that I don't find Tottenham unpredictable in the least.
