Champions League Final 2025 | PSG 5 v 0 Inter Milan

Aston Villa were the better team against them after the first 25 minutes at Villa Park. Second half, especially.
PSG improved as the competition progressed.
They were dire in their first five matches, the only win was a 1-0 against Girona.
Had we beaten them after being 2 nil up ( they scored their first goal in the 60 mins) they wouldn't even have qualified for the next stage if the competition.
They lost the first of their 3 CL matches against Arsenal badly where 2 nil was being favourable to them
Then then went on to beat Arsenal twice.
I'm not sure what changed but some of their football in the later stages was brilliant and exciting.

Plenty thought these were gonna win it..

Let's not start saying they're shite because PSG made easier work of the final than us.

Inter are in a final for a reason. This may just be the best CL final performance ever.
Surely not. What about 1999 or 2005.....

Well so the media brainwashing would have the sheep believe.

Thought PSG played well.

Goes to show winning the CL is as much about timing than consistency. Particularly with the new format. You can be poor till Easter and still crack on.

Well 1999 is obviously the greatest achievement in the history of sports

But yeah, PSG were fantastic. Maybe the best CL final performance in the sense they went and dog walked a team that most people were saying are very hard to beat. It was completely dominant. I don't think they're the best team to win it of course, nor did they beat one of the great finalists but its the biggest domination in the final of that cup, especially when nobody really predicted it would play out that way.

Very good side though. They'll be knocking around for a while if they can hang on to their very good young players

I agree . That side to side stuff was a reflection of our elderly squad . Even before our drop off at the end of the year it felt like we were advancing with the speed of a hydraulic press with the only aim being avoid being tackled at all costs , keepy ball in the final third , fiddling about on a flank then the ball bumbling out for a goal kick . We need to start bewildering teams again . At pace . We were like a favourite dog who can still enjoy the grass but whose legs have gone so you don't throw the ball too far .
Beautifully put.

What happened after they won by the psg fans was atrocious! am sorry they should get the book thrown at them! They can't let fans rampage like that people killed hundreds arrested

You have to be a Pig to do that to your own City or any other for that matter. Maybe the people who did it hate France and wanted any excuse to burn it.

I hope they fuck them all over when they catch them.

That’s what the matter with Haaland is; he needs someone to tickle his belly.

Just had a quick look at the online verdicts on Linkin Park's appearance. Most seem to think they nailed it. I guess I'm just an FOC then. I thought they were terrible.
I think the main problem is it's a football match not the wank NFL shit.
We don't need bands playing or any other yank shite

OK, can't help wondering this.
Suppose Inter had done a Crystal Palace on PSG? I mean literally never exposing themselves, eleven men behind the ball for 85% of the match, often all eleven either in the box, or say nine in the box with a couple in the vicinity of it, as a front line blocking long shots.
Because that's basically what I saw at Wembley. And we've seen it many, many times, not only this season.
One breakaway — ok, speedy, very slickly executed (against a very high line, has to be said) — goal!
Result: 1-0. (With a fucked-up penalty and a stonewall non-sending off). Triumph! Everybody's happy for the underdog!!

Now I've only seen the highlights, so I'm in a weak position. But it's striking how many acres of space PSG are getting for their goals, even when they get into the final third of the pitch.
Of course, it'll be said, oh, you can't do that in the final of a Champions League. But in fact you can…
PSG would have very probably won the match, not saying otherwise. But by 5-0? I really don't think so.
It's not so much that I'm sick of people doing it to us (although strictly as a football fan, I am, in fact — it just isn't a spectacle of any kind), but by God it gets on my tits when people say “tactical masterclass”.

There’s disbelief and astonishment in Italy as no one can make any sense of Inzaghi’s game plan.

Let’s stop pretending this is anything to do with Football.
The real PSG fans were in Munich.
They’ll be at it again next week.
Couldn’t agree more, I’m currently in Munich Airport after spending the weekend here. Didn’t see any trouble, I was in a bar until the early hours after the final where the Inter and PSG fans were swapping shirts.

Did villa get the we were better than PSG for the first 25 minute trophy
No because we were better than them for 55 minutes in Paris (actual chance wise) then the game turned on its head and PSG turned possession into chances and turned the game Round from 0-2 to 4-2 at FT

No we just need to get the ball to him.
Either passing the ball quickly, finding him in the box (he get into space enough) or actually crossing the ball accurately.
Let's be honest we've been xhit at this al season - far to tippy tappy.
Occasionally knocking the ball over the top for a foot race between Haaland and defender would help too.

I think one of our recruits who can dribble will make all the difference to the Viking.
