Champions League Final 2026 | Sat 30th May | Paris Saint-Germain v Arsenal

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta speaking in his post-match press conference:

"I watched all the penalties in the Champions League this season during the last 72 hours to understand what is a penalty and what's not, and that can easily be a penalty."

Sums up their mentality. Why would you spend the last 72 hours going through penalties unless you (a) intended to attempt to win penalties during the match or (b) try to scramble through 120 minutes to reach a penalty shootout?

Been the same all season. Look at how to win by cheating.

Saka handball was a penalty. The Madueke incident was a free kick outside of the box, as they entered the box he then wraps the arm and makes it look like a foul. Never a pen.

They're whining about the ref. You won the league thanks to them being in your pockets all season. The ref last night didn't have any of it. Booked for time wasting on throw ins, blew for HT because you took too long for your corner. All correct decisions.

No chance, even with that level of help they're not going to get near the title. Unless it's won on 70 points or something.
Without the refs help Arsenal would have been around 6th or 7th in the league.
They've just shown that they can make ludicrous decision after ludicrous decision game after game after game and the press will just whitewash the whole thing for them.
Nothing is impossible any more.

Anyone got a clue what that Arsenal launching the ball straight into the air from kick offs was about? Weird as fuck.

The bottom line is Arsenal had the opportunity and players to make a proper game of it but chose to try and shithouse their way to victory. In the second half of the Premier League it worked, but it was a coin toss if it would work in the final of the CL. When we won it, we went all out to win, kept the coin in our pocket and managed our own destiny.
That’s the way to win it.

Isnt that the problem as they were shocked at not getting a penalty from a dive that they've been getting all season.

The IFAB need to tweak the rules when it comes to penalties, iniating contact should not result in a penalty.

It almost worked, but thank god they fucked up the penalty shoot out

Absolutely deserve this massive dampener to their parade. Deliberately delayed it to celebrate the CL win as well tells you everything about their arrogance. They were actually starting to believe the media hype.
The kiss ass media have been unbelievably positive about the dark arts VARsenal!

We were playing PSG and for all their possession it wasn't like they had a ton of chances. If we'd gone toe to toe we'd have been ripped apart. We didn't lose the match (obviously apart from pens which is a lottery) so if it had gone the other way and footballers paid £200k+ a week actually manage to hit the fucking target from 12 yards then the dastardly plan might have worked.

I'd imagine heavy investment in the summer plus we are guaranteed CWC qualification unless 2 different PL sides win the CL in the next couple of years and neither of them is Arsenal or City (the 2 PL sides with the highest English coefficients).
Plucky Arsenal beaten on penalties

He's trained them to cheat. Look at the cunts reaction.

They've been getting those decisions in the league so decided to try it in Europe.
It's why Arteta said he'd been watching all the penalties in Europe to understand what is and isn't a penalty, it's because he sent them out to win penalties by diving, just like Madueke tried to do.
Arteta and Arsenal are a cancer on the English game.

Just feck off, you were battered. Look at attachment then add less than 200 passes in 120 minutes of time played, not football played because you timewaste to an embarrassing degree.1000042444.jpg
