Bit of a stretch wouldn't you say?
They have some big money transfers, sure, so does City. But plenty of their team are actually players from their academy (Carvajal, Asensio, Morata, Casilla, Yanez, Vazquez, Mariano) or players they got at a very young age (Marcelo, Varane, Ramos, Isco, Kovacic, Casemiro,...). So not at all the finished product. And even Kroos wasn't the accomplished player he is today when he joined them (remember, he left Bayern because they got Thiago and Xabi Alonso to play in his position).

I would say their approach has changed over the last Galacticos period where they just bought names, then tried to fit them into the team (Beckham as a replacement for Makelele, anyone?). They look for young potentials, just take a look at the most discussed (possible) transfer targets linked with Real: Theo Hernandez (done deal), Mbappé and Ceballos. All still very young. And they are bringing back 2 youngsters from their academy who impressed on loan this season (Vallejo to replace Pepe).

but they still buy the youth from others and at big money and 6 or 7 big names are signed for mega money so my point is why does manchester city have to answer questions when signing players even young players and manchester city have had a hardcore 5 or 6 players for over 5 years and some was signed for peanuts at the time. the media dare not ask the question to the so called big clubs they are shit scare of losing there media pass to games and even united are untouchable when signing pogba for a record fee after letting him go for free under fergie and the media seen it as a good thing hahaha jose is the master

we have to answer every signing we make and the media never let go its manchester city can never win its like ok you won this or that but spent millions on players or you won nothing and only just finished 3rd with a squad that coast this much even FA cup games vs lower league teams the media are right on us with the value of the team they never miss a chance to put us down

it makes me so sick when uefa and the FFP let the so called big teams do whatever they want and debt is seen ok by them and good for football but manchester city are so wrong and get fined £49million and squad reduction that can not be right or good for football if you are stopping some clubs from signing players and it works both ways the buying clubs and selling clubs both get what they want and the selling club are getting a better deal when manchester city come knocking the price goes up £20million so how can that be bad for football and others

football and the premier league and Uefa all send out the invitees to the rich people to come and own a club and put there money into football only for them at uefa to slap them in the face if they get to big and want to play with the big boys in the champions league and then they change rules to stop them. sicking and the hate comes from that and they ask why we boo in the champions league games
