Champions League Final | Free LIVE on YouTube

Ta lovely
Well actually no.
You don't watch on the BT Sports channel on Sky (if you're not subscribed).

You watch via YouTube on Sky.

I checked it for tonight's West Ham game....
On the Sky home screen it had a link to the West Ham game for the BT Sport channel on YouTube. I just selected it and it opens it up. You select "Guest" when it opens up.

Presumably it will be exactly the same on Saturday ie. come 7pm the CL Final will appear as a YouTube link on the Sky homepage.

I thought somebody said you could watch it on bt via skyQ even if you don’t have bt sports??
No problem to watch it on the BT Sport YouTube channel via Sky Q - the West Ham game was highlighted in 'Today's Top Picks' on the home page.
But you can't watch it on regular TV through Sky unless you have a BT Sport subscription.

Great on YouTube, only a 10 second latency delay, thought they had to show it live?

I watched the second half of the West Ham gane via Youtube on Sky Q, it buffered a couple of times. I don't have BT Sport subscription on Sky and you can't use thier Monthly Pass on Sky, you have to sign up to a 24 month contract.

Bit thick here, if I go for the monthly pass, can I watch the game on my LG TV via an app, or do I have to watch it on my laptop?

Apologies if this has been asked or covered before.

Ta in advance!

If you are streaming it I'd use the BT Sport app instead of YouTube. That's because YT only allows live streams to be 60fps and the actual broadcast is 50fps meaning you don't get the smoothest experience because they don't match.

That doesn’t make sense. 60ffs is smoother than 50fps

Chances are it will be encoded in the fly and shown on YT at 50fps max.

I don't whether you can set your display refresh rate on the Fire TV to 50hz and/or set to match (content) refresh rate.

I have an Nvidia Shield (Android TV OS) and when I open the BT Sport app it says 'optimising display content' so it is changing refresh rate output to 50hz even though i've already set it to that in the display settings.

You’re confusing refresh rate with frame rate.

Iplayer sometimes does this.
Football looks like a 'film version' or Ted Lasso.

That’s because it’s frame rate
Films are 24 or 25 frames per second. It’s what gives them that jerky look which some people cancel our by having their TVs set to auto smoothing or something like they which then makes the shows look like 1980s American soap operas.

The best option for most of you don’t want to play around with your tv is to set your tv to ‘sports’ mode and it will jiggle the settings for you.
