Looking to do 3 nights and just wondered if anyone had been before and what type of place it is and are there any must see attractions?

Can’t wait to see a huge and interesting City.

I have never been but will get there one day. I have always wanted to see the Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque. A good friend of mine was there and said that they are magnificent.
You can cross the bridge onto the Asian side or take a boat. Have fun.

Just watch From Russia with Love, got all the main tourist bits in circa 1963. My advice would be to avoid fights at gypsy encampments, unless it's two busty, scantily clad women going at it! Or perhaps The World is not Enough, where I would avoid Robert Carlyle, but not the lovely Sophie Marceau.......

Seriously I haven't been since 1977 but remember as a 6 yr old it was a beguiling place. Plus the Bosphorous is lovely for a bit o' sports washing, so I'm told! ;-)))

Get a new hairline

I was in transit at instanbul a few months ago flying back from Seoul and the amount of English lads flying back to England with hair operations was something else.

I amused myself for a minute by thinking they should call rename Turkish Airlines as Turkish Hairlines

Grand Bizaar, it's incredible. Also there are thousands of stray cats and dogs that the people of Istanbul look after in the public places. Do not do anything silly and mistreat them or you will bring total shame upon yourself and face the wrath of the locals.
