Exactly, it's a very complex event, not something that can be changed with a couple of emails. Many companies and organisations are involved in the planning. There will costs that have already been made by those contracted in staging such an event and new servicing contracts to be established, compensation paid as well. All of that and plenty more. I've mentioned a couple of times that uefa will have planned for contingencies for all of the above and we shouldn't underestimate what is involved.
I remember walking out of Wembley when they were hosting a CL final after one of our cup visits and even two weeks ahead of the final there was a car park with a fleet of around 30 Mercedes cars with uefa livery all over and with a 24 hour guard. And that's just for ferrying the corporate.
Multiply that by 100 and that's just the tip of the iceberg of the contingencies to be made.
There is also, covid reasons apart, of UEFA setting a precedent for future finals which involve clubs from the same country, that is moving the final at the last minute for the convenience of travel. There are possibilities, not remote by any means, of same country clubs from Germany, Italy and Spain, as well as England meeting in future finals.
The locations for finals are appointed several years in advance.
