How the fuck can pig ginger, Blobby Fowlup and Lee Dixon claim that Markovic was unlucky to be sent off?

It was a premeditated slap to the face, even if only his fingertips caught the Basle player. He looked twice - that's TWICE- to check that he was in range before hitting him.
Because they are right. It was one of the worst decisions I have seen this season. Lots of players use the hand off. It's never a red card. I would be disappointed if a ref even blew up for a free kick.

EDIT
Ribery would get 10 red cards a game.

I can remember Sun Jihai being sent off for a much less serious incident than that.

Markovic looked where his opponent was and deliberately swung his arm to catch him.

Red card all day long IMHO.

Agree to disagree.

Markovic was an idiot, don't stick your hand in the face of an opponent, don't give the ref a decision to make..... easy!

Also shows the cost of being out of the Champions League, you have to be in it every season to progress.
Liverpool use to be a shoe in for the Champions League knockout rounds now look at them.

They could of done a lot better recruiting in the summer. They have followed Spurs in blindly wasting money and will have one hell of a job in shifting their players.

Yep. You'd have thought the Spurs experience would have been a factor in Brenda's thinking about how best to invest the Jaws to Barca money. Clearly it wasn't. I bet the American owners are uber impressed with this shit.

I hope all you people are lighting candles for poor Steeeeeeevie.

I have slipped and set fire to the house.

I only caught a glimpse of it on a passing TV, and frankly even though it was Liverpool on the receiving end of it that never looked like a red card to me. Players push their arms out expecting collisions all the time, give themselves a bit of space or anticipation of a tackle. It just looked like he's gone to do that, clipped his nose hairs, and the other lad has hit the deck like a fucking fairy. Happy to change my view upon watching it again though!

One of the twats is on Talk Shite right now. He says it's his 21st birthday today and he is accusing Brenda of trashing his big day. Now he's on about the fateful Chelsea defeat last season and how Brenda fucked up there too. They just haven't recovered from last season, fans and players both.

Is the correct answer. Why did he do it? The Basel player wasn't in a position to make a challenge, and Markovic looked behind him to check where he was. It was a ridiculously soft red card (a yellow would havemade more common sense), but it was a deliberate act by the Liverpool player. Utterly stupid.

Says it all about decisions in football. Everyone on this forum watches a lot of football and we have such different opinions. I think it's an awful decision and others think it was a great one with no controversy.
