I worked the bar of a Holts pub years back and one of the regulars at the time, Jimmy, was in most of the day drinking Crystal and having a little flutter on the horses.

He generally went home at tea time and you could set your watch by him.

Anyway, one morning, he came in at 11 o’clock as normal, looking dog rough and with scratches all over his face.

I asked fucking hell Jimmy, what happened to you?

He then said “I stayed on to watch the Rangers in the CL. I had 3 pints of Diamond and the next thing I know, I’m waking up between some fucker’s hedge and roses watching the milkman deliver their milk. I’m never drinking that Diamond again.”
