Champions League Games 16/17 April

Us and Prp could learn a thing or two fron this young Ajax team. Namely about not shitting our pants when playing Europes elite, believing in ourselves and enforcing our style of play on them.

Ten Hag learned from Pep and getting his team to execute the game plan a bit more effectively - although, tbf, Ajax have not played as many games as City or dealt with as many sides sitting so deep in blocks of 4. In terms of momentum and general play, not sure anyone can make a credible case against Ajax being the team playing the most beautiful football in Europe

Hope City get through because I am fascinated at the possible semifinal matchups, much less final

If we beat Spurs playing Ajax over 2 legs will go down as the best semi final tie in CL history.

It would be like watching us v Monaco again with hopefully a better result. Two football teams playing pure football before one ends up in Madrid to play a cynical team in the final.
It will have to go some to beat last years semi, 5-2 Win for Liverpool, 4-2 Win for Roma, 7-6 on aggregate.

Have you heard Ferdinand. United have over achieved blah blah blah, sad bastard.

At least he had the grace to admit the Rags are going to struggle to attract new talent. Nobody decent wants to go there
I've noticed this from the ex-players. Whatever is happening in rag kingdom it's always good. Ferret-face said he's glad they've gone back to being shit as it helps the manager see what needs doing. Well, good luck attracting the players you need when you finish 6th, you ferret-faced ****.

Heard Rashford hit the bar. Bet slur Alex did, after the match.

I dont think it will be a fire sale like the one we saw at monoco, most of the team might stick together and it would be wonderful if they do.

I felt there passing was a touch faster than ours which made them a real threat and its just not second half, best team over 2 legs easily
Monaco lost 4 big players after that season, Mendy, Bernardo, Bayakoko and Mbappe.

Ajax have already lost De Jong, De Ligt looks halfway out the door, Neres, Ziyech, De Beek and Veltman all have plenty of suitors.
It won't take much for them to match Monaco in that regard, especially with one player already gone, which eases the pressure on the rest to stay.

I thought Ajax were brilliant. The 2nd half in particular, they ran Juve absolutely fuckin ragged. Passed them off the pitch but it was all forwards passing, quick and incisive. The only thing they were guilty of was overplaying when they got in the 18 yard box and to the byline. Had they made the right choices in those moments they would easily have put 5 to 6 past them. And it's not like Juve were not defending. They had 11 players behind the ball in the first half, they were clearly scared shitless and once they conceded they had to chase the game. Then it became an open shooting range for Ajax and they went to town on them.

A brilliant team and a proper surprise as well. They'll get shafted and the team will break up in the summer but that wont happen until the season ends so in the here and now, they are going to pose a major problem if we get past spurs tonight.

Will be a hell of a semi.

You make it sound like a classic. You were winning 7-4 on aggregate till the last 5 minutes.
I did not say it was a classic, I simply said it will have to go some to beat last years semi. We will see, if you beat Ajax 7-6 then I will eat my hat.
