Yes. The 3rd placed teams in the CL drop into the EL knockout round where they play one of the group runners up.

Should they win that, then the round of 16, the EL group winners play the winners from the knockout round.

Started back when the Barça board colluded behind Soriano’s back to get him out of the club by alleging he’d been spying on them all when he hadn’t and it was basically laughed out of court.

They’ve had others in the boardroom come and go and come back again since then, but you know that something is deeply wrong in the core of a club when a collective of the boardroom are trying to get rid of someone like Soriano.

I don’t even agree with everything Soriano has done at City but he’s a great CEO and you don’t get rid of someone like that unless you’re a bunch of idiots.

And what we’ve seen since at both Barcelona and City couldn’t be two clubs moving in more different directions.
