He’s still the holder of the greatest comment I’ve ever heard in football commentary.

At Fulham once, a player (think it was Fernando Torres for Chelsea) tried to hit the ball on the volley but it rolled down his leg, off his foot and out for a goal kick, and Hoddle said ‘was that Chelsea’s new Chinese striker Knee-Shin-Toe?’

in the city spurs one in the last minute that one probably shouldnt have been given offside - eriksen played the ball imo rather than being just a deflection

Direction of the ball has never mattered. If you are behind the ball when it’s played, you’re onside no matter who’s in front of you, which I think is what gives rise to the confusion.
