This is the aspect of it I don't understand. If a man has gone down, and VAR have determined that it's not a penalty, it should be an automatic yellow card. If a team can be penalised because the other team has conned the ref, then if the team that's doing the con is exposed, they should be punished.

It's pathetic how they send the refs to the monitor. Just tell him he made a mistake and get on with it.

This and they really need monitors by the goals and make it mandatory for the ref to review penalty awards and non-awards.

The ref would blow for it and reverse an obvious error like that within 40 seconds.
