Controlled because they were never under threat. Let's look at how the game went.....Madrid goal disallowed. Two bookings for the first three fouls committed by Real, soft penalty awarded to Arsenal, Real penalty overturned. Madrid shout for a penalty for a shirt pull ignored.........no wonder he was relaxed. You tell me anyone who has had such fortune in Madrid.

Agree that the referee was fair - not many would overturn their own penalty award, at Madrid.
But, for once, Arteta seemed calm, as did his team.
As I don't often watch Real Madrid, I can't comment on referee's performances for their games.
But haven't the RM Club (not the manager) written to the Spanish FA about the standard of refereeing in their games ?

As to be expected lots of bitterness about Arsenal, unfortunately, at this moment in time, they are just a better side, with better players than us.

I wouldnt say our players are necessarily better. Honestly if Rodri wasnt injured I reckon you guys would be at the top or chasing Liverpool til the last day.

TBF I'd rather race PSG in the next round than Villa, strange though it sounds. Emery knows how to get the upper hand on Arteta yet we pumped PSG in the group stage and have the physicality to control midfield. Appreciate they've gotten better since then though.
