That’s all that’s changed. Pot 1 as Champions gives an easier group draw, which helps with topping the group and avoiding the big boys in the knock-out stages.

Having 3 English teams in pot 2 makes the difference,

We could have drawn Barca, Bayern, Real, Juventus yet we drew a team that finished 25 points behind us. Our failure shouldn't be attributed to a bad draw.

We;d have been better off with any of those 4 and decent refs
