Not really, back before the foam a player would sneakily drag his foot over the ball to move it to either side if he felt more comfortable, but as you can see it's more blatant now doing it. Sometimes the ref would turn a blind eye. Beckham used to love moving the ball backwards from the 18 yard line, sometimes the players in the wall didn't complain but they really should have done as it was more easier to get it under the bar

The problem with Chelsea sometimes, is that they go 1-0 up with Mourinho in charge and put most of their eggs in the basket that they will hold out.
