Yeah, Warnock’s rant was funny. Obviously not the biggest fan of this particular referee.No. You could tell by his reaction, it was definitely a cross. And Warnock getting up on his high horse about the mistake for the throw in. Surprise, surprise. Yes, it was a cock up. But it's no excuse for the pitiful marking from the corner that eventually came from it.

Well, I didn’t see him frowning, if that’s what you mean ;-)Was he that angry that his eyebrows fell off? ;-)
Yet clubs still employ these dinosaurs, and then wonder why they are in the shit football has moved on from lumping it up field..From Twitter:
In games played since Steve Bruce took over at WBA...if there was a league table, we would be 19th, having been 5th when he signed for Albion
Hopefully he’ll be at the rags in a season or two ..Is it just me who thinks that the media painting Rooney’s tenure at Derby as a success isn’t right? He got them relegated, never an achievement regardless of the circumstances.
Ten Hag isn’t lasting that long. Rooney at the wheel! Best part is the media would protect him so much. Gary Neville wouldn’t call for him to be sacked if he got United relegated.Hopefully he’ll be at the rags in a season or two ..
Yep. 1st season they finished lower than the previous manager. 2nd season they were very lucky not to be relegated on the final day and 3rd season relegatedIs it just me who thinks that the media painting Rooney’s tenure at Derby as a success isn’t right? Brought him in as a finished MLS player and since worsened league position year by year, was made manager and got them relegated… But Sky Sports say he’s doing a great job.Yep. 1st season they finished lower than the previous manager. 2nd season they were very lucky not to be relegated on the final day and 3rd season relegated
To be fair to him (not something that comes easily to me), if they hadn't got the points deduction, which wasn't down to him, they'd be "up" in 17th place this evening with 52 points. Also, they don't seem to play a particularly stone age brand of football. Is it just me who thinks that the media painting Rooney’s tenure at Derby as a success isn’t right? I think he’s done a decent job, nothing incredible. Just don’t like the way Sky Sports and the rest of the English media are saying that Rooney getting Derby relegated is a good achievement. To be fair to him (not something that comes easily to me), if they hadn't got the points deduction, which wasn't down to him, they'd be "up" in 17th place this evening with 52 points. Yeah, I totally get that.I think he’s done a decent job, nothing incredible. Just don’t like the way Sky Sports and the rest of the English media are saying that Rooney getting Derby relegated is a good achievement.
I didn't realise they'd only be as high as 17th until I checked last night. Media coverage of his tenure suggested they'd be top half.To be fair to him (not something that comes easily to me), if they hadn't got the points deduction, which wasn't down to him, they'd be "up" in 17th place this evening with 52 points. That's an excellent post. I remember that season in League 1 (or whatever name it had back then). Horrible times. We did well to get back up straight away. That Dickov goal at Wembley is a pivotal moment in our history.Feel for my son and my Derby supporting mates. Top lads all of them. My Derby supporting son is pretty stoic about his first relegation. Not bad for an 11 year old. I was 17 when Antic delivered the dagger to our hearts. Fair play to the lad. The rest of us are Blues but he follows the team from near where we live nowadays.
Neither of us like Rooney to say the least, but he has done a decent job and has stuck around when others would have walked, and he doesn't need the money.
Now the hard work begins. It took Sheffield United 6 years to get out of the 3rd Division, Sunderland are in their 4th year and no likelier to get back up out of it sadly. Derby were in the 3rd Division for 3 years in the 80s. It's a tough man's league.
I well remember when we were in the 3rd with Shaun Goater being kicked in the back of the legs as he tried to shield the ball with no free kick given. A pattern of unpunished fouls and more physicality in that league makes it so tough. You've got to have the skill as well as the physicality to get out of that league.
Derby need to keep hold of as many youngsters as possible, persuade veteran Curtis Davies to sign on again and bring in as much quality as they can with the budget they have. They could do worse than buy as many Rotherham players as possible! Seriously they need a good blend of experience and youth but it will be hard at that level. I suspect this will take a few years.
When we're not watching City we will go down to Pride Park.
Next year could potentially have Derby, Wednesday, Sunderland, Ipswich, Bolton along with Barnsley (who like Rotherham know how to get promoted from this divison) Peterborough, Wycombe, Plymouth, Oxford competing for 3 spots.Feel for my son and my Derby supporting mates.
