We are equipped to give Bayern a game. AS long an Pellegrini doesnt platy 4-4-2. With the two Ferns and Yaya in the middle and Silva and Nasri we have a great midfield capable of ball retention.

Exactly fella, I think we can rest assured that the Bayern game is one where MP will definitely play 3 central midfielders.
 
I'm excited for the Champions League this year, I think we will not only get out the group stage but also get quite far in the knockout stage, could even win it! We have a great squad and when we are on it, we can beat anyone. Bring it on!!!
 
On the blind, I agree with everybody who think it's a shite-draw. We are in pot 2 and managed to get an even tougher draw than last year in pot 3. Again meeting Bayern and CSKA, with Rome instead of Pilzen. Than we start away at bayern in between Arsenal and Chelsea for the PL. And to finish it off, we have 5 awaygames after a CL-game out of 6.

Oh, not ready yet: Again the toughest group of all English teams in the CL. For 4 years running ... un-be-lie-va-ble.

Lets qualify, either 1st or 2nd, and get this over with. Aarghh ...

its huge for everyone connected with the club ,which makes it all the more disappointing,when you get all the city fans on here,crying off ,you can bet ,this group of players will be giving everthing,pity some of our fans,cant show,a little of their commitment,,to the believers,see you all in berlin

Well why the loom and gloom this "group of death ...." those things were applied during Mancini time 1st for his poor record 2 for the fact that the team was still new to CL

now its a different thing city players are one the paid players in the world they know each other they know what this club aiming for so i fully expect us to go throughout if not then players should look at themselves

the difference is that this time the 4th will certainly take points out of other teams as Plzen did last year against CSKA so beat CSKA and Roma and get one result against Bayern

it will start getting easy when we get to pot 1!! so hopefully Arsenal crash out early and lose the 1st pot and United don't qualify again for the next CL
 
Well the champions league is pitting you against the supposed best teams in Europe,but really apart from last seasons draw the other three have been groups of death,you would expect us to get a bit of luck in the draws but ffs not when we go into Bayern's group when 4 other groups are free during the draw,its all about uefa giving us a bloody nose they are effectively trying to hamper our progress both in terms of ffp and the champions league...

It's calculated by UEFA over a 5 year period using 5 coefficients.

I guess these take into account things that happen in national leagues as well as European matches.

Indeed it is. You have to go down to 32nd to find the Dippers. Even if national comps were figured into it, we've finished higher than them in th last 5 seasons. No way under any ranking system are they in front of us. Except 'istree, of course. Somebody has f*cked up in those rankings that were posted.

is it me or when we were drawn out instead of then drawing the group number out didn't they just say `oh man city can only go in group f`.......did I imagine that & if its so could someone please explain this ?

So basically Arsenal have as difficult a game as us 3 days not 4 later than playing us. I therefore can't see any advantage to them at all in the game on 13/9 other than them playing at home. Can anyone else?

Chelsea missed out last year, does anyone really think they are going to play a weakened side in their first game in the CL to prepare for us? Are they fuck. They also play on the same night so no advantage there at all. The only advantage they have is that they play at home and we don't. The disadvantage to them is that they play us away!

We dine at the top table now and as such we have to play and beat the best teams on a regular basis.

The last five 7/8 games of last season and first two games this season have said to me that we are the business at the moment. We have a top quality manager who knows what he is doing and have a support structure that seems to have stabilised us. We have players who are all at or close to their peak ages. They have signed new contracts, they want to win the big trophies.

There is too much talk of agenda nowadays. We have won 2 premier league titles, an Fa cup and a League cup in the last 4 years and got to an Fa cup final. If there really is an agenda then the people setting it are clearly failing miserably.

We are not entitled to win all competitions. We are not favourites for this competition and if we don't win it then we don't win it!

I was contemplating giving the group stages a miss but these games are ok by me. I will be there again in amongst the tourists etc...

Personally I don't care who the dippers, Chelsea and Arsenal have got and I don't agree that the dippers and arsenal have easy groups. They have tricky groups. Maybe not as tough as ours but not a walk in the park.

It's all good.
