Not sure how they'd rack up 50 posts to be able to start a thread if they posted nothing?! ;)

It's 50 posts OR 10 days membership, whichever comes first. You don't need to be a member for 10 days AND have 50 posts.

Yeah, it'a an either/or situation, not a both situation. You have to either have 50 posts or be a member for 10 days, if you meet either criteria you can start posts. We couldn't have the 50 posts as an absolute cut off as there are many members who post very infrequently and may well have something worthy of a new thread afetr a month or two of membership, but they only had 20 or so posts.

ah ok, fair enough. just thought 10 days was a little low.
