I have asked Ric for permission to post this and many thanks to him for agreeing.

My son, Chris Blades, is trying to raise money for charity, The Breast Cancer Campaign, and to this end he has decided to run in next weeks New York marathon.

His Nan died of this awful disease a few years ago at the young age of 51, so now he has taken it upon himself to try and raise as much money as possible for this worthy cause, so he decided to give this a go, even though he has never run a marathon before in his life.

He is travelling to New York by himself and will be running without knowing anybody there but I am sure it will give him great encouragement if he knew that total strangers, (that's you lot), had donated to this campaign.

If you would like to donate you can do so securely online at http://www.justgiving.com/chrisbladesnycmarathon/ and from information he has told me his current total in pledges is over £4000.

On behalf of my son, I would like to thank all of you who sponsor him for doing so.

ALL DONATIONS GRATEFULLY ACCEPTED.
