Brilliant performance from a team that has hardly played together as a unit all pre season. Shows how good they and pep all are. Mendy will be like a new signing. Foden didn't look out of his depth and Aguero looking hungry. Couldn't of asked for a better performance really. Could have scored another 3 or 4 easily.

That wasn't even a consideration in this instance.It was simply down to the shit he was spouting.

I said this before the game when people were playing down the importance of the Charity Shield, I think it was really important we won that one.

Send a message that we've not taken a step back, make sure we're not under pressure if we lose the Arsenal game, hoover up another piece of silverware even if it's the least important one of the season.

Foden was great, Bernardo was brilliant, Aguero could have had 5 if he was match fit, Mahrez was wasteful and a bit selfish but it's early days.

All in all a great start.

The real game is against arsenal, you can lose in the shield and win your first game and forget all about it.
That said we were great today
