Dead Set is a new horror/zombie thriller mini-series written by TV critic and Guardian columnist Charlie Brooker starting on E4 next week. I was an extra in the show about 5 months ago and tonight I attended a special pre-view of the entire series at a Cinema in Liverpool.

I won't give anything away but all I will say is that if you only watch one more series this year makes sure it's this. It is truly awesome and any fans of horror or thrillers will absolutely adore this.

I've been home nearly an hour now and my heart is still going like the clappers. It is truly the scariest, most gory, most thrilling and exciting show to appear on our screens for years. Not only that but it is also funny, clever and satirical.

If you still aren't convinced then you may be interested to know that the show is produced by Endemol and thus is based around Big Brother.

Read Charlie Brooker's synopsis here: <a class="postlink" href="http://www.guardian.co.uk/film/2008/oct/18/horror-channel4" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.guardian.co.uk/film/2008/oct ... r-channel4</a>

Be sure to watch the trailer and more here: <a class="postlink" href="http://www.e4.com/deadset/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.e4.com/deadset/</a>

And whatever you do, don't let your kids watch this. They'll be having nightmares for months.

Heard about it for the first time earlier today. Looking forward to it.

Thanks for the update Dan.

Charlie Brooker is fantastic

will wait till nov 3rd for dvd want to see it ,like you ,in one go

mrs hates horror so no chance of watching it on tv

Charlie Brooker is brilliant, read the synopsis of his new show in the Guardian the other day and it sounds quality. Looking forward to it.

agreed.

he seems to know through being a critic what would make good tele.

Really looking forward to this.

Will watch that. Probably won't sleep for a week after though. The dead coming back to life, and Victorian dolls are the two things of my nightmares. Both just get to me.

im gonna be watchin dead set as well if it is half as good as his column in the guardian it will be the best thing on tv by a mile

Trust me it wont. I'm not exaggerating when I say that it's one of the best things I've seen on TV in years. If you're a fan of 28 Days Later, Dawn of the Dead etc. then you'll love it. If you're a fan of Big Brother you'll love it. It isn't as comedy centric as the likes of Shaun of the Dead but Brooker's humour is all over it.

Enjoyed it!!

Not as stomach churning as I was led to believe, not in the gratuitous blood and guts sense anyway.I like the Winstone girl who plays the lead and the odd bit of humour is balanced nicely with the tension.
8/10 so far. ;-)

Ya silly sod! You were the one that told us about it at work too!! ;-)

Well worth a watch. Bit patchy at the start imo, but came into it's own in the second half.

You do realise it's on every night this week don't you? Got to catch up fast or wait for a repeat Steve.

I'm generally not into this sort of thing, but after the first episode, what I will say is that I'm intrigued. I don't know how they're going to make 5 episodes out of this.

In a strange way I hope they bump off one BB contestant each night.....does that make sense? ;-)

With the "Grand Finale" on Friday with Kelly and three others.
