Charlie Kirk shot dead at Utah university

My suspicion is raised immediately. Must have been some marksman from 200 yards to pick him out. Yet just disappeared. Assumptions already being made it’s a lefty but who knows? Could be a random nutter who doesn’t like him or a follower of another far right nutjob. Anyway detracts from Epstein for a while doesn’t it? Didn’t notice this amount of outrage when the Democrat politician and her husband were murdered a few weeks ago. Yes it was reported but not to this extent.

Whilst true, I think you underestimate how huge Charlie Kirk is, we live in a social media world now and he was one of the most prominent figures - most kids in America will have been watching his clips the last few years ,we’re talking hundreds of millions world wide also.

Trump will make him a martyr and use it as a platform he’s blaming the left already troops on the streets soon. Wouldn’t be surprised if he gets a full state funeral.

Guy who tweeted that Charlie Kirk was afraid israel would kill him has got a video out quick. Must be shitting himself. He says "I thought he would be scared to lose sponsors and donors, I wasn't even thinking about losing his life".

Lol pull the other one fella. He drops into line by the end of the video and is blaming lefties despite us knowing nothing about who did this at this stage

I'd say a marsman on the roof, the shot was extremely accurate, right in the neck so making it unsurvivable. I've seen reports that some older guy made a fuss in the crowd right after the shot and was arrested, classic distraction technique. It would be a miracle somebody could just pull a hand gun out in a crowd and fire off one shot that accurately. As somebody has already said a random shooter in the crowd would have carried on firing until he was stopped.
Who was behind it? We will probably never know, nothing is ever as it seems.

For those interested this is him coming up against educated people, he doesn’t do well but you can see why his rhetoric would cause what happened. I thought he was much older if I’m honest

Watching the video the shot comes from his left and seems distant so had to be a sniper otherwise someone in the crowd would’ve pointed out the gunman/woman. This has got to be ex military a one shot kill and gone.

I'd argue it was a poor shot that got the right result. I would imagine they were going for the head.

He's already making waves stating the flags will be at half master all over the country.
It is sad that he's died and in front of his family, But we have to remember this was a despicable and poisonous human being. Full of absolute hatred.

Forget Charlie Kirk for a moment and just focus on the fact that the current POTUS has ordered all flags in the USA to be lowered to half staff for a period of respect for the death of an extreme right wing, racist, social commentator and podcaster just because he said nice things about him, and realised just how fucking insane that is.

I don't think he was racist. All he did was point out issues in the black community and disproportionate crime rates, single parent families in USA etc.. all facts that should be allowed to be brought up to get to a solution or conversation. He also set up things like Young Black Leaders summits to inspire young black people. Does that sound like racist guy?

He wasn't racist, he just wasn't afraid to point out statistics that make people uncomfortable to bring up, but it wasn't done to make a racist point.

Plenty I didn't agree with him on. Too much of a conservative Christian for me. But racist? No, I dont believe he was.

he'll be made a matyr, X and Facebook will push out the propaganda and this will sadly help the republican party come next election.

When you use divisiveness as a platform these are the kind of things that happen and it doesnt make it right but it is what happens, it only takes one nutjob to turn and these things will happen, maga is in full flow atm about the loony left etc etc and are conveniently forgetting that in the not to distant past when trump urged his lot to fight fight fight that 2 police officers died also.

Now i am not going tit for tat as people have passed and neither side have any excuse and both are as bad as each other what i am saying is that this should be a lesson to all the youtube political commentators, agitators in the usa and the uk that if you stir up divisiveness and you make a living from angry rhetoric etc etc it only takes one nutjob to be pushed to far for something as tragic as this to happen.

Trump will do what trump does and double down to divide people even more when the correct course of action would be appealing for calm, bringing back the ability to have reasoned debate, understanding that compromise is possible in order to limit these types of things happening again, the world needs to become less angry not more so.

He suggested Black pilots are unqualified.

He blamed a Black fire chief in Texas, for flooding deaths that occurred.

He denounced the passage of the 1965 Civil Rights Act and discredited Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. as “awful” and “not a good person.”

He devoted a chunk of his podcast to honoring the influential evangelical pastor John MacArthur - called him “one of the most influential Protestant minds since the Reformation,” and a “legend” . One of MacArthur’s most famous old-fashioned beliefs was that slavery was godly.

Empathy isn’t some fluffy woke term. It’s a fundamental human skill, especially in any profession ie medical profession where you deal with people, pain, or vulnerability.
It's not about being soft or indulgent, it's about being able to understand another person’s experience well enough to respond appropriately and ethically.

Nowt wrong with empathy, it is a human trait, using it as a devise for social or polictical gain though is pretty twattish behaviour.

And on this and many other senseless deaths across the globe in their millions, having a moment to feel sorry for his wife now a widow and two children who. have lost their father is natural and nothing wrong with it, but before I read it here I had never heard of him and within minutes this was just another incident with no more thoughts on it till now, once posted I won't think about this again once unless responding to the probably replies I get to this calling me heartless or such.

Empathy is not a bad thing and we can all have it, pretending to actually care when deep down you don't bar passing voyeurism is the fallacy

@SWP's back quote on empathy is directly from the man killed.

I think thats the irony here, most decent people can show empathy and understanding for people and situations despite never having been through what they've been through.

The victim said some very poor things about school shootings and Palestinians, so the lack of empathy he's receiving is probably linked to the lack of empathy he had.
