Charlie Kirk shot dead at Utah university

Charlie always maintained people are the problem, not the guns, and ultimately proved his point. In all likelihood someone murdered him for his views, and ironically used the very same tool they supposedly opposed, a gun, to kill him. What's worse, that person probably thought Charlie was pure evil, but they are great for killing him. What a fucked up world we live in...

I am against guns btw, I would remove all of them from the country if possible.

Did it prove his point? I mean, the gun clearly played a part…

Trump and his cronies may be quite right wing, and the lefties hate them all for it - but then the lefties are just murdering/attempting to murder them.

Who are the real psychopaths here?

The ones jumping to conclusions and playing dumb that a senator was murdered the other week by a nutter of the quite right wing.

I see the usual hypocrisy is in full flow again today. Having the car serviced this morning and GB News was on. All the politicians on there condemning ’lefty’ rhetoric leading to violence. Trump spouting the same, whilst preaching an entirely different message. Farage saying that Kirk was loved by every young person as he was the antidote to the ‘woke mind virus’ infecting universities, Duncan Smith asking if the US security forces have been infiltrated by ‘the left’ given they obviously hadn’t done their job protecting Kirk.
Like their ‘free speech’ argument, it is cognitive dissonance on a level never seen before.

The real psychopaths are those that have already decided they know the beliefs of who killed Kirk.

Over 6000 people signed a petition protesting his appearance at the university that hardly suggests he was loved by every young person does it and as for the person suggesting that the security forces have been infiltrated by the left, literally 2 weeks ago trump revoked kamala harris secret service protection because it was no longer necessary why in the ever loving fuck would security services be offering any level of protection to a youtube gobshite.

Like you said cognitive dissonance on an absolutely industrial level.

He was very influential amongst the younger end of MAGA support. He tried to bring his views to the UK and foolishly chose the Oxford Uni Debating Club to air them and got torn a new one. He advocated gun freedom and supported Israels action in Gaza. Politically he was not on my side of things and when up against critical thinkers was found to be wanting but if anyone's answer to a view they don't agree with be it politics, sports or anything is at bare minimum is to smack them in the mouth then you are simply wrong - discuss, debate even agree to disagree violence is never the answer.

# see Ukraine, Sudan, Myanmar, Gaza and other places - violence is never the answer
The battle of Cable street was most certainly justified.

What has happened is awful, but when you have a positions like 'empathy is a made up concept and damaging' and 'deaths are just collateral damage of having gun rights', how tf do you expect people to react....

I'm always astonished by the concrete perception people have of others these days. You're either a racist, bigoted Nazi or a woke, liberal leftie.

He may have held views that people disagreed with but he also had a lot of people who loved him, including a family who've lost someone for speaking their mind. It's a cruel way to go.

I'll be honest, I don't know much about him, nor have I watched any of his content, but I've seen people put him in the racist / nazi category. Then I saw this tweet on my feed:

Maybe I'm naive... But I don't see how this boy, and other black people associated with Charlie's organizations, would follow him and give him credit if he was exactly what his opposition say he is.

I guess my point is that people are being pigeon holed and accused of all sorts by people who don't like their argument. The world has gone mad and I've never been more uncertain of where I fit or what cause to believe in.

Nobody, whatever their political viewpoint, deserves death when they haven't committed an act that warrants it.

Which is why we need the leaders of the world to decrease tensions and unite society. Instead we have people stoking the fire, inciting hatred and causing more division.

People have gone mad and there’s no compromise anymore. Every debate/political opinion is all or nothing. Every tragedy used to point score, it’s quite frankly boring.

Right wing bullshitters are saying that he got killed for having a different opinion, how can anyone say why he was killed when we don't know yet who killed him or why they did it?
Same as the democrats killed a couple of weeks ago then or the two police officers that were killed for just doing their jobs when trump urged his supporters to march on washington and fight, fight, fight

Who exactly have "the lefties" murdered or tried to murder?

This sort of rhetoric is really damaging, especially as we dont know the full circumstances or the motive behind yesterday's events.

Exactly people have forgot that two things can be true at the same time and also that you can fundamentally disagree with someone on a particular issue and that doesnt make them a bad person.

I think the thing to come out of this is that left or right, democrat or republican etc etc, humanity is royally fucked unless there is a sea change in how people interact with each other and while petrol instead of water is poured on the flames of division we are going to hell in a handbasket at a breakneck speed.
