There is no problem with free speech other than the critical thought needed to listen and synthesize the information, and often throwing the “Bullshit Flag.”

As you’re seeing elsewhere, and as some would like to institute in the U.S., curtailment of free speech is rarely done for positive reasons, and it codifies against the ability to speak truth to power…and that power then gets to determine who can say what.

There's a line you don't cross and this is very much that line.

You can pretty much argue that all murderers, terrorists and many sex offenders are mentally ill, and it's probably true. This is a reason to lock them up and keep them there imho - not an excuse for leniency.

I remember it coming up on a video that the idea of some sort of crack sniper is a bit of a myth from a skill perspective. They mentioned that most soldiers can be fairly quickly trained up to the level of accuracy required. The difficult part is the psychological element. Most people are not willing, even if subconsciously, to kill someone who's not threatening them from a distance without them ever knowing about it.

Agreed, and it’s not just the natural reluctance to kill a person, but the ability to calm yourself in what is a high pressure situation. The heart will be going, sweating, shaking etc., and even more so if you fully intend to escape without being caught or killed. Will my escape route be viable in the aftermath, what if I encounter security unexpectedly and so on? All this and more will be running through his head.

The shooter was not just skilled, but must have some training to counter his natural reactions in the moment and leading up to the moment.

I have a uni degree and a decent level of education/achievement. So, no, I'm not a 'failed' student. And have very little in common with Kirk for that matter.

I just don't judge people or their intellect on whether they went to an Ivy league college or not.

Charlie Kirk is MAGA's Horst Wessel. This is just the beginning of his canonisation. Odd isn't it that there wasn't the same level of condemnation from the right when a democratic rep (and her husband) were murdered by a religious nutcase in June. America is deeply divided, has a strong current of violence in its culture, and is awash with guns. What could possibly go wrong.
