Ched Evans - serious injury

If she'd actually accused him of it then yes, but she didn't claim she'd been raped. If it's overturned, the ones that should be answering questions are the police and the CPS for effectively deciding for her that a non-existent rape has taken place. I'll excuse the jury because they would've been swayed by the prosecution case.

Really? Madness. How did it end up being a police matter if she hadn't accused anyone of anything!?

If I remember correctly she contacted the police to report having woken up in a strange hotel room with no recollection of how she got there or what had happened. The police were the ones who then pieced everything else together.

This is something I'm struggling with too. There are thousands of potential rape cases, with victim statements and evidence, that never even get to court yet this one did. That's not to say that he didn't do it of course but I don't see how this could get to court when other seemingly more cast-iron cases don't.

I think her main reason for going to the police was to report that she'd had some personal belongings lost or stolen.

Cases like this are a slap in the face to genuine rape victims in my opinion.

No. The text sent by McDonald to Evans simply stated that he 'had a bird', not that Evans was invited and if she didn't personally invite him into the room he shouldn't have entered.
You've never knocked on a door and been invited in somewhere mate?

Hypothetical scenario here, if the evidence showed that there was damage consistent with being forced would it be pointless?

Mate I'm happily spoken for and wouldn't do anything that might lose me the woman I have, there's fuck all chance of it happening to me.
Id say it was pointless yes as Ched had sloppy seconds and any particularly vigorous coupling between a young fit lad and a girl can leave the lady a bit sore down there anyway.

Fair enough. My wires must have been a little crossed. I just read that she went to the police, It was somewhat brushed aside that she never actually made a rape allegation. The CPS and police should be accountable at that rate.

What a load of absolute fucking bollocks
For why? May I ask.
Noted below, it seems the young lady didnt actually make the allegation of rape. So it's kind of a redundant point now, but generally speaking, a false rape claim should be punishable by the same sentence. It can ruin innocent people lives because of regret/sheer vindictiveness.
Not all cases are the same, I am well aware of this. But false rape allegations happen. It's naive to think they don't.
