Hope someone on the forum can help me. I have a mate flying over for a week from Australia and bringing his 10 years old son to his first City game. How do you get one of these passes/wrist bands to high five the players at the main entrance as they come off the bus. Do you have to buy a hospitality ticket or is there some other way these are handed out ?

The junior blues got to do this when one of them won a competition on the official site. It was a fantastic experience.

Liz Douglas is the person you need. She looks after the kids who high five the players pre match, along with the mascots and player escorts. Just had a quick look on the club's website and I can't find her contact details - maybe someone on here knows how to contact her?

It's gone rubbish now anyway... that stupid catwalk thing they had against Monaco has to be the most cringeworthy thing I've ever seen at a football game. Worse than dancing robots!

Hi there,

I brought my son aged 8 to his first match recently, from Ireland.

My advice would be to go to the City Family Day, if its on; and to forget about the team bus. The City Family Day really is outstanding, I couldn't praise it highly enough. For my kid, flying over for the weekend, to be able to play 5 a sides with kids from Manchester and its surrounds, all in their jerseys, was really special; and also all the other novelty events were excellent. I'd go as far as saying, with apologies to the fans here, that he enjoyed it a lot more than the game; even though the game was a good one (Swansea). I cant imagine that seeing Zabaleta or Aguero going by in a bus in their headphones would be any better.....Certainly, given the choice, I'd bring him to the Family Day.

That's a good shout. He would love that. Hope it is on that day would make his trip to say he trained at the City training complex.

Being a miserable old c##t I would ban players from wearing head/ear phones when they get off the bus. How can you connect with the fans when you are listening to the Spice Girls at full blast??
