Cheesey's Vlog - Premier League ruling

The issue is there are vloggers out there that do film during the game and put it up on their videos.
The PL could easily take action (with youtube) against those doing it. Instead they just sent emails to clubs telling them to tell youtubers to stop filming inside the ground.
As far as I understand it, there's nothing Youtube can do to remove a video an individual has recorded (or should I say the PL don't have the legal right to get it taken down). You can't actually copyright a football match, so any recording of the event is owned by the person who recorded it. So all the Premier League can do legally is enforce a no-recording policy in the stadiums.

It's a load of bollocks though. If someone scores a goal, I can go on Twitter and immediately find a snipped broadcast video of the goal. The idea that some random vlogger's handheld footage from a single angle is going to devalue the product is laughable.

All the club has to do is appoint Cheesy as their official matchday reporter. The PL cannot stop a club filming in its own stadium so long as match footage is not shown. Tv companies own broadcasting rights which, I assume, are expressed as match footage. If the PL has signed a contract selling wider rights, more fool them.

Great idea, used to love Cheesy when he was commentator on GMB, he was the best of all of them .

People doing this are the equivalent of plankton, they aren’t gonna start taking bites out of the big PL shark, to some they are a great source of getting the feeling they’re at the match or have experienced it in some way, especially those who can’t be there for health reasons etc. Something tells me the PL/Sly have seen the individual success of some of it, and Will look to replicate it, with their own ideas, maybe an ambassador for each club who has almost unlimited access

I don't like his work but don't bite the hands that feeds you.

All publicity is good publicity.

The Premier league are becoming more arrogant and unaware by the day, not good for the beautiful game in any way.
