Chelsea (A) | Post-Match Thread

Great win and performance, both individually and collectively. We should have won more comfortably but again missing decent chances made it more nervy than it should have been.

Predictably the wankers saying Chelsea played poorly, erm no we didn't allow them to play as we totally dominated them.

After that performance you can't help thinking what if about the champions League final.

I’d agree with that. There were a couple coming back from injury that may have been slightly rusty but it never impinged on the effort they gave. Phil and Kev come to mind, but I still thought they were great.
Similarly with Jack, I don’t think he’s experienced that intensity with Villa and perhaps not yet with us but he rowed in with a very good contribution too.

As for the rest, I wouldn’t fault any of them.

An exceptional team performance.
 
Considering how they caught us out last season, to approach the game in that fashion was impressive. Thought we may have put too much into first half without scoring but stayed measured throughout. Not sure why they moved from 5-2-3 that worked in CL final. Lukaku is just a bad pick, lumbering and has a huge ego, won't do the selfless running like Havertz and Mount did. No improvement on his performances vs us for United.

Grealish got chopped by Christensen just before the Jesus chance cleared off the line. No booking but got one later. Dias did the same to Lukaku late and was immediately shown yellow as the game was going on (how often do you see that?).
 
Statement performance that today, every single player stood up to be counted. Incredible work effort by every single player, possibly Rodris best ever performance for us, Laporte & Dias look like a perfect fit. Foden &. KDB will only improve with more game time.

Missed most of it due to little ones birthday, but Kew something was up when a couple of rags present started huffing and puffing!

Very pleased, seems we forgot the crafty tactics and just turned up to be ourselves and play our game, and did them.

Just watching the highlights now, agree that foul on grealish just before Jesus has it cleared off the line is a clear yellow. I did catch ten mins of commentary in the first half and during that time even the commentators were saying "how is that not a yellow for jorginho" and "rudiger lucky to escape a booking yet again".

Up the blues!

Before the game, I was prepared for this to be a terrible week, with a mix of draws & maybe defeats to our biggest rivals.
While Utd collected 6 pts to move well ahead of us.

Suddenly, everything feels bright & sunny again !
