Chelsea (A) | Post-Match Thread

Was thinking that....then realised it will be all about where Chelsea got it wrong, not how good we were ;)
The rags will be on for about 30secs and glossed over....and most of programme will be a Brentford love in (nothing wrong with that bit tbf).
Brentford first on (no complaints), but then the rags and should villa's goal be ruled offside (??), then us apparently..

Oh they will put the usual spin on it,but that will make their salty tears all the tastier :-)

Just watched the game. We totally dominated Chelsea. A message to all the other teams in the league ... the title is ours again.
We have the team to win everything this season. Bernardo needs to stay .. he is key.

Didnt see the game, was working days sorting out shit for cunts. The drugs dont work.
How did we do? Will see Match of the scratch later but highlights are gash. Did we control the game?

Phenomenal performance, completely controlled the game. Everyone played great, Rodri was exceptional as was Bernardo, Dias, Laporte, Cancelo.

Tuchel has Pep's number so we won't beat Chelsea. - Perhaps Pep has changed his number.
Or perhaps we are capable of brilliant performances every so often.
Pretty similar to the win at Leicester in that we really should have scored two or three more but it's another three points and several players competing for MOTM.
How long do we have to wait to see if VAR will call back the rags and Villa players so the penalty can be retaken?
Bernardo is the man for these big games. It's like having a 12th player on the pitch

Tuchel reckons they were strong in the last 20 metres of the pitch for 60 mins !!!??? Was he watching the same game as me ?
For most of the game, their players had forgotten what the final 20 looked like. Ederson could have hosted a tea party with the crowd

Wow, just fucking wow!

rodri, bernardo, dias, walker, cancelo take a bow! Rodri’s best game?

bernardo, that you stayed means everything

immense display!
Bernardo is one of those players who while posessing exquisite skill, utilises it in very intelligent ways.
Firstly, there's his ball retention. But in addition to that, sometimes you just need a floating pivot in the last 2/3rds who is acutely aware of where he is in relation to everything else that's going on. Put those two together with high workmate, and you have someone who knows when to press but also how to join things up when you get that ball.
David had an exquisite eye for the through ball, but I believe Bernie is just as valuable in that 'gelling' role.
Gullitt did the same for the Dutch national team (in a more forward role perhaps, but he came to where a man was needed and linked things up/created space for everyone else).
Love the guy.

Loved it when they said that Chelsea are in a wonderful position after a difficult run of fixtures at the beginning of the season. But no mention that they`re level with a City team that have played notoriously difficult away games at Spuds, Leicester, and Chelsea.
Let`s see if the same spiel is rolled out in our favour next week if we pick up point(s) at Klanfield.

edit - and the Dippers have only played Chelsea of the bigger clubs, and that was at home

Mate we were great today, should of won by more . We controlled the game from start to finish. When they eventually came at us , our defence was superb, Diaz & Eddy … I say Eddy , he didn’t have a save to make but his sweeper keeper was top notch

Nice to see so many pages already after a win.

Went to the game and then watched game back when I got home.

Hopefully we have seen the last of people suggesting that coward Tuchel has Pep's number: he hasn't and never had had. Chelsea are one of the teams who can play in the way that is most likely to beat City but they have to be right on it and City need to be below par. Today City turned up in a big way and Chelsea didn't but City for sure didn't let their opponent breath, the press was exceptional today, the energy outstanding.

No one displayed more energy than Duracell Bernie, who was the best of several high performing City players.

Rodri was imperious.

Dias immense.

Gabby and Cancelo were also MotM contenders.

Overheard a Chelsea fan on the Tube comment Grealish didn't do much, said City paid £100m to stick him out on the wing; at least he was right when he said it was like City had 13 men compared to their 11.
