Chelsea: Cech, Ivanovic, Terry(c), Cahill, Cole, Ramires, Lampard, Hazard, Oscar, Schurrle, Torres.
Subs: Schwarzer, Azpilicueta, Luiz, Mikel, Willian, Eto'o.

MCFC: Hart, Zabaleta, Demichelis, Nastasic, Clichy, Garcia, Fernandinho, Yaya Toure, Nasri, Silva, Aguero.
Subs: Pantilimon, Richards, Kolarov, Milner, Navas, Dzeko, Negredo.

Can't for the life of me understand why we need both Dzeko and Negredo on the bench but not Jovetic.

No jovetic :(

Very happy with that line up and the change in system should help us stifle Chelsea's excellent attacking options. If Yaya is more advanced up the field and plays well he may rip Jose a new one.

My only concern with this, and its not intended as a "slight" on Garcia or anyone else selected is that it looks as though Mr P isn't that keen on the English boys in the squad.

I'm predicting that Garcia will have a very good game today.
This is the role and type of game he was bought for.

Well that is a surprise!!
I thought everyone could see how poorly Garcia has been playing and he's certain to lose his place.
Actually Garcia has not been doing badly CONSIDERING he's not a CB. In front of them he'll do a job for us and release Yaya AND Ferny when we're attacking.

I fear Aguero wont get any space upfront on his own. He's profited from Negredo bullying the fuck out of everyone, creating room. I hope he doesn't become isolated.

Another worry I have is our pressing. We NEED to press high up the pitch, but Yaya will be high up the pitch... so that mean zero pressing.

But we'll see how it goes. I'm certainly not confident.
Agreed. Disappointed we're not going with the Beast upfront with Kun.
We can always make that change. I think Kun will get chances as the main focal point. I'm actually glad Pelle chose to start a more conservative set up to see how the game plays out.

Team v @MCFC: Cech; Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry (c), Cole; Ramires, Lampard; Hazard, Oscar, Schurrle; Torres. #CFC

Jose has bottled it!

Tried to match us up in the middle and gone for Schurrle, like he did at United.

Set up not to lose in the first instance.

Agreed. Schurrle is their Milner.

Tireless work horse.

Well hope pellegrini has caught mourinho out with this team and formation, would love nothing more than come around six o'clock to see that smug fcukers face tripping him...
