Ortega,Ake,Walker and my vote Akanji were a solid unit today including Stones and his replacement Dias.Doku and Jack deserves a mention too. CTID

Doku, transformed us when he came on.

Pace, power, direct and made defenders go on the back foot.

Possession football is all well and good, but give me pace and the ability to beat a man anyday and twice on a Saturday afternoon semi final.

Well done the blue boys. We showed another side today. To all the blues that said that the FA Cup doesn't matter well today showed that it mattered to the club.
Especially if the final is against the feckin neighbours....

Ortega, Akanji and Doku were comfortably our best players followed by Ake.

On a side note- WTF has happened to Julian this season ? He stunk the place out yesterday.

I’ve always thought MOTM should be given to the person who would have had the greatest effect on the game if they weren’t playing.

I give you Nicolas Jackson.

For City, I reckon Ortega or Kev fit the bill. I’ve never noticed Kev go into fully ‘enforcer’ mode like the 2nd half in that game - loved it, and of course his assist.

In an all round team performance of character and credit, Ortega nicks it.

Akanji - by some distance again. Like Rodri, this guy's becoming the best in World football at what he does.
Under the radar of the moronic media, obviously.
That's my new phrase now ' moronic media'. So true!

And I agree, Manu is under the radar and underrated by those outside. But we know his value to the team. What a steal of a signing he had proved to be.

Ortega kept us on that game. Maybe no Hollywood saves but some very important ones, and the thing that impresses me the most about him is it's not just about the save, it's the rebound that he gets well clear too, more often than not.

So either him or Akanji for me. Full of energy, somehow, and took on the responsibility of driving us forwards too when needed. Centre back, right wing, striker, he was willing in any position. Maybe the fact we were so vulnerable on the counter does count against him a little, or maybe our whole defensive setup, but I've not analysed that in any detail and it's obviously exhaustion mostly anyways.

Akanji was superb, especially in the 2nd half. A little indecisive in the final third for the 1st half, but was immense defensively after moving back into CB.
