Chelsea - FA Cup SF | Post-Match Thread

To my mind the problem is that we don't have a fluid squad. The best eleven is probably the starting eleven from Dortmund but we should only be swapping two or three for today's game and then change another one or two for Wednesday, and again for Sunday. Six or seven changes causes too much disruption, particularly when so many players are in a bad run of form, or coming back from injury (Ake against Leeds).
this for me. The rotation players coming in just aren't up to it, and it shows. We play like a completely different side

The international break has killed our momentum and it's killed some of our players who played 3 full games in 6-7 days.

Before the break, we were rotating 4 or 5 players a game with ease. Allowing players to slot into positions with a similar core XI.

Now we are having to make 7 changes to keep our most important players protected.

Let's get the league over the line and hope for another trophy. I think getting a trophy on top of the league would constitute an amazing season, whether that be the League cup or CL.

The FA cup and League cup are just distractions at this point, we already won both multiple times. Pep made the right decision to rotate and keep players fresh and hungry.

The main objectives are the league and the CL, I was actually surprised Pep risked KDB.

Also It will probably be the same team again against Spurs next week-end which is again fine, if we get it it's a bonus but priority is to make sure players are fresh for the PSG game.

I think the media got into the head of many of our fans with this quadruple nonsense.
Nonsense why? Do you honestly think we couldn’t do it? Clearly now we can’t but it was getting closer all the time.. To go out in this way (re the quad) with a whimper is massively disappointing

It's not arrogance, I am saying we need to stay grounded and forget this quadruple nonsense, We have a good shot at the CL why risk it?
Listen , winning the Champions league will get us no respect & we will get absolutely no credit at all for winning it & to throw away winning the FA cup , the most famous trophy in the world is not fucking right . Pep treats the fa cup the same way he treats the Derby games , no respect & no fucking clue what they mean

A total non-event, like a training game with the added caveat of the Chelsea defenders auditioning for an explosion scene in Saving Private Ryan II.

I don't agree, we have a one off chance to win the league cup, its a final, we should also win the league at a canter from here, so focus for now on those 2.

In the CL we have a chance, but we'll have to be at our very best to even get to the final, the FA Cup today was similar, we had to be at or close to our best to get to the final, and then do it again in the final.

They won that game in midfield. Jorginho, Kante, Mount, two wingbacks vs Kev, Fern, Rodri. I should add Raz and Torres but they obviously didnt believe that being overrun in midfield had anything to do with them. Not sure where Cancelo was.
it was only when Gundo came on we started to come to terms with it. Chelsea are a good team but they didn’t really have to move out of 3rd gear today. Thought Pep had a stinker. I couldn’t see much adjustment going on to cope with their midfield dominance.

bring on Aston Villa. We need to win that.
