Chelsea fans threw coins at City kids celebrating goal

Bit of a difference between a big mouthed **** and known City hater getting it in a high pressure derby and a young kid celebrating a goal on his début. Poor behaviour from both sets of fans but the two are in no way comparable.
Seriously?
Either throwing coins is acceptable or it isn't. I don't give a toss who they're being thrown at. I'm not one for 'lifetime' bans but for this I would make an exception. There is no context whatsoever where this is acceptable behaviour. For me it's ban, police, court and prison. Whoever throws it and whoever they throw it at, is completely irrelevant.

Not really. It's a despicable act regardless of who does it to whom.

I actually agree with Stony, not sure why he has had a hard time. Firstly coins shouldn't ever be thrown and there is no justifying it. When Ferdinand got done it was after United scoring a last minute winner in a tight title chase (at the time) at our ground, in a derby that we was 2 down in and clawed it back after their players goaded our fans. Emotions were running very high and whilst I repeat coins should never be thrown the reaction came from all of the above which once more isn't right.

If you then compare it to yesterday, it wasn't a huge game. Chelsea was ultimately going to win anyway with the teams on display. It wasn't getting heated or nasty in any way and the kid scoring was harmless and not a Balotelli type of character that is hated. What is trying to be said is where the anger and emotion has built up in this incident to then start throwing coins is hard to work out.

They should threaten to close the end where the coins were thrown. Perhaps their fans would be more ready to point out the culprits.

Everton and Utd had to section off part of their stands behind the goals because of this in the 60s/70's

We don't want to regress back to those days again.

So what you're saying is that in a tense game when emotions are running high it's quite understandable if somebody commits an act which has the potential to blind somebody. Then you go on to say that "coins should never be thrown". What it sounds like to me is that coins should never be thrown at people unless they happen to play for the Rags, in which case it's okay. I just don't agree.

No and you clearly haven't read what I put properly. I never said it's ok and never said at rags is acceptable. I am saying you could maybe see how someones emotions could lead to that if they are a bit of a knob to begin with. The point is what brought a Chelsea fan to be that angry to do that in a very timid game and throwing them at an unknown player with no history or hatred against.
