Chelsea (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

On Pep for me.
Akanji in midfield doesn’t work, we can only assume Stones isn’t fully fit.
Foden on the right is just ridiculous.
Alvarez and KDB in midfield doesn’t work either.
Big lad miles off it.
I did think Chelsea got there tactics spot on though and Pep seems to struggle against Poch.
Think we’re going to struggle against all of the teams that we’ve already dropped points against this season.
We won’t win the league unfortunately.

For the 'penalty' at the end one of the reasons it rolled down his arm is because he had hold of Dias shirt and pulling him down. Two fouls in one moment but VAR couldn't see any of them

If Haaland had his hat-trick it wouldnt have mattered some will say. Regardless of that it was a penalty. That the red tops get
This. Not enough is being made of the shirt pull. In fact nothing is being made of it so they can focus on the fairly weak handball which was still him controlling it with his hand.
this shirt pull was a clear penalty

Haven’t seen replays yet so won’t comment on the penalty decisions.

I thought we set up wrong. Foden has been immense in the middle and was scoring goals so the decision to move him out wide today was very strange. I thought it was even more strange to keep him out wide when it looked like Alvarez had his boots on the wrong feet. Bernardo really made a difference when he came on.

I don’t like Akanji stepping into midfield. I think it exposes us. Stones and even Lewis both perform better in that role for me. I’m not criticising Akanji there though, he’s doing as he’s told.

The tempo was way, way too slow and we invited pressure needlessly. Chelsea overran us too often through the middle and when we had the ball we waited patiently for them to get back and set up as they wanted.

Haaland was woeful looked like he couldn’t be arsed. Doku even worse, sadly. Too ponderous, then running down blind alleys. He’s not letting the ball go at the right time.

31 shots, 5 on target. We can complain as much as we like about bent refs but that stat is fucking pathetic.

Bad day at the office. We’ll still do it, though come the end of the season.
Doku makes all the wrong decisions consistently. That is a big worry

Nothing? It might not match your record but 4 FA Cups and 5 Community Shields would be something most fans would love.Hubris from you.
Charity shields FFS.. you won one of them because we couldn't play ourselves
4 F A Cups yeah that's not bad. But the top teams win the Premier League

Can't believe people are slating Doku.
to be fair he probably had more of the ball than anyone else on the pitch but there was zero end product. He didnt run at players like he has earlier in the season but was always available for the ball on our attacks.

I didn't clap either but I didn't boo them off either. Bit small time from some of our support.
I thought we were better than that. Raheem especially has been a big part of our recent success. I wonder if those whose used to sing He’s Top Of The League were booing today.
I clapped him off and also Palmer too as a local lad .

I’ve held back and held back but tonight I’ve done it. It’s gone to Sky.

Commentary by Jamie Carragher

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the biased commentary provided by Jamie Carragher during Man City matches. It has become increasingly evident that Mr. Carragher cannot hide his personal biases against the football club, which significantly detracts from the viewing experience for fans like myself.

Every time Mr. Carragher commentates on a Man City match, his negative opinions about the club are palpable. His commentary is filled with a barrage of negative comments, and his tone of voice unmistakably reflects his bias. When the opposition team attacks, Mr. Carragher’s excitement is palpable, yet it noticeably diminishes when Man City is on the offensive. This consistent pattern of behavior is both unprofessional and disrespectful to the fans who expect unbiased commentary.

Furthermore, it is deeply concerning that an institution like Sky continues to employ Mr. Carragher despite his blatant bias and unprofessional conduct. As paying customers at Sky, we expect to receive fair and impartial coverage of football matches. However, Mr. Carragher’s biased commentary undermines the integrity of the coverage and fails to meet the standards expected by Sky’s subscribers.

His actions not only undermine the integrity of the commentary but also raise questions about Sky’s commitment to fair and impartial coverage of football matches.

Moreover, Mr. Carragher’s personal views about Man City, which he often expresses on his personal platform and other social media platforms such as YouTube, further highlight his bias and lack of professionalism. It is unacceptable for someone in his position to openly display such animosity towards a football club, especially when millions of viewers rely on him for unbiased commentary.

In conclusion, I urge you to address this issue promptly and take appropriate action to ensure that the commentary provided during Man City matches is fair, impartial, and free from personal bias. Fans deserve better than to be subjected to Mr. Carragher’s unprofessional behavior.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I await your response and look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
