Chelsea (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

I hope this is the bottom of the barrel that is being scraped, from all those shiny little cups that they have, surely they must have stepped up and scored more from their 30 odd chances.

Time to relax and understand that we sometimes drop stuff when we really shouldn’t.

That‘s football. We won‘t always play against 12.
I’m refer to the season not just this game the best we’ve played lately is when Akanji wasn’t available for Pep’s experiment , this is entirely down to Pep and not Akanji who is our best defender

How about you fuck off back to the history channel you condescending twat.
Lack the legacy of the red shirts..fuck off again..
Maybe we hadn't won as many trophies but the vast majority of Liverpool and yooniteds were won after 1960s ..
Come back when you win the domestic treble..note I didn't mention the charity shield in that which we also won.

Or come back when you win the treble..or get 100 points..or even if you win the Champions League.
How about coming back when he stops being such a prick?

Unlike some fans, in my experience City fans generally give ex players a decent reception, unless( like James Milner) they make dicks of themselves with their comments after leaving.
Would I put either player alongside the likes of Bell,Tueart,The Goat, SWP, Sergio, Zaba,Kompany etc...in my list of favourites, no I wouldn't,however, I also have nothing against either player.
Palmer was a decent enough young player, did okay for us, maybe could have been a great player, maybe not?
As others have said, Sterling was frustrating to watch at times, but did score over 100 goals for us and played a big part in us winning numerous trophies. I didn't go today, but I did clap him off when we beat them last season for that very reason.

You could have joined some mates today then who obviously felt the same

Sorry, but this is all on Pep, soon as I saw that team I knew we were fucked. Rest Stones and Bernardo in game vs Brentford. Why the fuck would you put Foden super glued to right touch line against Chelsea to accommodate Alvarez?

Title is gone , because arsenal and Liverpool will take some stopping.
I agree today's on pep and his stubborn choices to play square pegs in round holes and not sub off tired players. But TITLE IS GONE give your head a wobble.

You honestly think we will finish third ?

Because Alvarez is Pep's favorite or something along those lines...

I can only speculate this when Pep goes on and on about Phil losing the ball at midfield versus Palace, but he seems perfectly content with Alvarez doing the same repeatedly despite having half the talent.

That last fifteen minutes against Palace was a shitshow from a few players. Stupidity from Phil when all we had to do was see it out. Same with Bernardo on the touchline.

I'm not sure if it's the personnel available or a change of tactics but we're far too easy to play through this season. I remember even a shit Huddersfield side created at least three very good chances against us in a game we dominated and won 5-0.

Pep needs to sort it and quickly as we enter a very tough March. If we play like today against the rags, Spurs, Villa, dippers and Arsenal we're fucked.

Chelsea have been decent in both games… they were good value for the point today - MP got his tactics spot on - yes Haaland takes his chances and/or not another inept referee and we could have won it but credit to Chelsea they had a plan and executed it well
Excellent against us twice but generally dog poo this season, frustrating if the worst Chelsea team in a decade costs us the title

Chelsea were pretty solid, if the team lack motivation and strikers are misfiring, we have to take a point. Created more than v Everton, which wasn't fantastic either.

Another good run ending with a Chelsea draw.

Sort of typifies our season todays game, not totally on it. I don't think we've been great in the vast majority of matches this season but have ground results out.
Can't afford to drop any more points from now until the end of the season if we want to make it four in a row

Nowt wrong with appreciating what a former player did for the club. And it's not as though he joined a club likely to challenge for the title.

Yup, not wanting to go round in circles here but he’s scored today against us, and is clapped off the bastard pitch, only by a select few but still

to be fair he probably had more of the ball than anyone else on the pitch but there was zero end product. He didnt run at players like he has earlier in the season but was always available for the ball on our attacks.
zero end product? Watch the match again
