Chelsea (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

You've just watched Bernardo play in defence, midfield, upfront, starting the press and picking up from ederson and you think Gvardiol was the best player on the pitch, looool! Bunch of jokers!
Hey I thought Bernie was MOTM as well but to say Gvardiol was poor is ridiculous.

Madueke was/is proper handful. He is a very good player and think he could fit in our squad.

Wouldn't go that far. Khusanov missed the first header completely and then a poor back header. Seems bit of a stretch to pin that on Akanji who I thought played ok today.
It was during that incident Akanji had the chance to take control and get the ball away but he hesitated and Khusanov made that weak header.

As the senior player alongside a young lad making his debut I'd have expected Akanji to shout that it's his ball and belt it away.

Still, as it didn't cost City the game it could be the making of the young lad as he'll know what he's facing in the PL and that could help him develop fast. His block to prevent the 2-0 should have pleased him.

David Mellor! David Mellor!!!!!

Enjoyed that today!
Feel for Khusanov but he is not alone in having played a poor back pass that has led to a goal this season. Bernardo was everywhere today, helped out defensively, ran the midfield and helped out up front a few passes but that is excusable. Gvardiol also very good, looking forward to seeing Marmoush again already, he looked very lively. Loved the third goal which I felt we really needed, great play by Haarland to hold the ball and lay it off to Foden who still had a lot to do in order to score.

Was an absolute joy to see Erling isolate his CB, get picked out and dominate. It’s easy to think we dont have a plan B but today we used our physicality and power for the first time in a couple of seasons. Last time was when we battered the tarquins a couple of season ago.
