Chelsea (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

I,d weigh the lot of them, particularly Cherki, playing as if they've put a good 5/6 kgs on :-)

In all seriousness we look knackered and lacking any sort of drive to finish teams off.

I,m sure we,ll come good just a matter of when.

Bernado has heart and will run around because of that, but so what when you're running round not really doing much. The foul he gave he away which eventually lead to the goal sums it up. He looked fucked from running round like a headless chicken, he should have come off 100%.
His end is nigh bug Somebody told me Bernardo Silva has played in more Manchester City wins than any other player in our entire history ,(inc before 91)

A strong City squad wins that by 3 or 4, but sadly, we are far from being anywhere near that
Look City and Pep should sell or release players who are finished at City ? Phillips Stones Bobb Kovacic Trafford Ortega

The 2 keepers, Trafford Ortega would bring in some money and the rest would be the wages we save
I agree but unfortunately big wages and contracts it's hard to do. I actually like Kovacic tho he's a very decent reliable squad player who imo we're missing.

Others I totally agree it's time to be ruthless.

We should be all out throwing the money at Guehi tomorrow can play all across the back 4. Semenyo needs to just get finished annoying it's not done already :-( be brilliant to bring in another top CM this month but I highly doubt it.

6 mins added time got them the draw which was coming if we weren't careful. Oftentimes I wonder does "10 men behind the ball" ever pop into Pep's mind?

I think we got very lucky today and got a point ? In the last 30 minutes any other team wins the game. A managerless Chelsea would have won that game if they didn't sack the manager

Definitely one of those days when our talent had a Mare at the same time.

The equaliser was embarrassing but it was coming.

Felt Oliver was far too lenient on James and seemed determined to get to half time with zero bookings.

You wonder how I feel? Gutted of course.

My opinion wasn’t stupid. You keep going on about it like I’ve said the worst thing ever, ha.
Second time you’ve tagged me since that quick chat. Hindsight is a lovely thing.

I stand by my opinion.

At the time we were on an 8 game winning run. We didn’t need another player to beat Chelsea and it was sensible to give Bournemouth a better chance of getting a result V Arsenal which they very nearly did.

Things have changed since my comment as well, we drew v Sunderland and had a few injuries.

You make out like if Semenyo played today we’d have 100% won. We were pretty crap today so it’s unlikely we would have won regardless. We didn’t even play with wingers today.

Tell you what, I’ll tag you in when we sign Semenyo and we don’t win a game. I’ll say - I wonder how The stoned guy feels that we played Semenyo and we didn’t win… Messed up the balance of the side. Bet he’s twiddling his thumbs.

I’ll see you then ha.
I can’t wait :)

At least he’d bloody be here! :)

one of the few games fixture to fixture where we done worse to last season. last season Maresca tried the high line which we easily punished and won 3-1 at home.

It's when we lose the ball which we do quite often now, the other team breaks and we're using up lots of energy running back
Can somebody please explain why are performances since the start of the season have been gash in second-halves? That cannot be 'out of gas'. For me it's either they are not fit or the balance and physicality of our is wank

Played well for 90 out of 95 mins according to Pep
Certainly not what I saw ....... our own players inadequacies caused us problems, and offered Chelsea not only hope, but a way back into the game ..... if Pep genuinely thinks that's 'playing well' then I'm not sure what he bases that on, because, as with the game at Sunderland, all i saw was a totally frustrating performance again .... especially upfront!

Pre match i said we dont deserve to be considered title contenders if we dont win and I felt we needed a big performance right across the pitch in addition to the three points to show we are up for a battle and can turn it up when needed like we have done in previous title winning seasons. We got absolutely none of that. Couple of the old guard in Rodri and Bernardo tried to raise it but everybody else failed to follow in their example.

Last 2 games we've shown we can't grab late winners in games we are dominant but struggling to break through and we can't see out games. There's no fight and work ethic in this side, its all too powderpuff.

I said very early on in that second half we'll concede a late goal unless we get a second, guy next to me said the same, the guy on the other side of me said it too as did the guy behind me, everybody could see it coming and yet we did practically nothing to prevent it.

Realistically we're done now. 6 points is far from insurmountable and many will cite us overturning a larger defecit in the past but Arsenal arent as weak as they once were and we certainly aren't as strong as we once were, we havent got a 14 game winning streak in us, we need arsenal to fall off a dipper shaped cliff which seems unlikely.
Tonight was a night for an ugly win. Defend like lives depend on it for last 6 mins and we are buzzing in here.

Didn't play poorly, just tired. The lack of depth in the squad killed us today. Chelsea are bringing on quality, we only really had a 50% Doku that could change a game.

He's still young and been largely brilliant for us this season, considering he's playing out of position. However if ever there was a time for a tactical foul that was it - worth yellow card to reset the team. He'll learn and will be a great player for us for years to come.

Equally Foden Cherki & Bernado playing tight little passes and conceding possession when we're winning with a few minutes to go is madness - different if we were looking for a winner - but we just needed to push them back with balls into the corners or out of the pitch - the team are running on fumes - too thin a squad with so many games.

Poor decision making from a number of players when we were attacking their goal

Also = how did Reece James not get a yellow early on - some nasty / snide fouls from a number of Chelsea players which went unpunished.

It ruins my week when we lose - especially so close to the end.
Reece had to go, ridiculous.

Cherki and Foden were just dreadful all game.

I think we could all sense an equaliser, and football, a bit like water, finds a way of springing a leak . O’rielly was that leak today, and unfortunately we have too many of them on any given week, to win the league.

Yeah, feels like we lost. Shit Sunday night and back at work tomorrow.

When stones and Ake were always mainly fit pep used to rest Dias and Gvardiol now we play them every game no rest at all pep believes in trust or protecting players because any other team Khosonov would of come in for game to let Gvardiol and Dias rest! Poor managing of the squad by pep

Just release the players we don't need ? pay them up and get rid ? So what if it's going to cost us, we have the money
even recall Grealish from Everton
